For years, ESG-driven banking and policy pushed investment away from Alaska oil. Now, companies are returning to the North Slope because our resource potential is impossible to ignore.
Alaska has the resources and strategic value to compete globally.

“They didn’t know it couldn’t be done.”
Today marks 49 years since completion of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System. TAPS remains a testament to Alaska ingenuity and resilience.
We honor the thousands of workers who made this historic project possible.

@SecretaryBurgum and @SenDanSullivan said it best: this is the Great Alaska Comeback! 👏👏
Thank you Senator Sullivan and Secretary Burgum for your steadfast leadership to benefit Alaska and our nation!
Exciting news Alaska! FIRST OIL AT PIKKA!
@SecretaryBurgum and I visited Pikka just days before the announcement. I had the honor of approving the exploration well when I was DNR commissioner and now Alaskans and our country will benefit: thousands of good paying jobs, community investments, billions of dollars over its lifetime for our state and our communities, and energy security for our nation.
Congrats to @SantosLtd and the men and women who put in thousands of hours to get this done! It’s a great day for Alaska!
Historic news from Alaska’s North Slope: first oil at Pikka!
Congratulations to Santos, Repsol and the many Alaskans who have made this project possible. This is just the beginning.

AOGA strongly opposes these rushed and unmodeled additions to legislation that should remain focused on improving the economics and long-term viability of an Alaska gasline project. #akleg

It’s @rdcalaska Conference week in Anchorage and 50 years of RDC! For five decades, RDC has championed responsible development and collaboration across Alaska’s resource industries.
When one industry succeeds, we all do. 💪
Today we honor those who served. 🇺🇸 Alaska has the highest share of veterans per capita, and many continue that service in our oil & gas industry.
Your leadership strengthens our workforce and powers Alaska’s future. From all of us at AOGA, thank you.
Our thoughts are with the Alaskans affected by Typhoon Halong. We’re grateful for the crews & volunteers helping communities recover.

19 billion barrels and counting! 👏
Congrats to @AlyeskaPipeline on this historic #TAPS milestone. For nearly 50 years, the Trans Alaska Pipeline has fueled Alaska’s economy, supported jobs and built a legacy of safe & reliable operations.
Today, TAPS and Alyeska Pipeline reached another significant milestone. The 19 billionth barrel of Alaska North Slope Crude began its journey down the Trans Alaska Pipeline System from Pump Station 1 in Prudhoe Bay at approximately 1 a.m. Later in the day, some of our PS1 crew even got out to the Milepost 0 sign to mark the occasion with a few photos!
“An often-referenced quote from the TAPS construction era goes, ‘They didn’t know it couldn’t be done.’ In that spirit, this once-implausible milestone for TAPS was made reality by the proud pipeline people at Alyeska Pipeline and our contractors who operate TAPS safely and reliably,” said John Kurz, Alyeska’s President & CEO. “This moment also honors countless individuals and organizations that continue adding to the iconic infrastructure’s legacy, as well as Alaska’s residents and leaders and the state’s hardworking oil and gas industry.”
