The Managing Director of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC), Dr. Cyril Yiltsen Tsenyil, says the Commission will align its proposed strategic road map with the National Regional Development Policy (NRDP) currently undergoing validation.
According to him, the NRDP will strengthen the Commission’s capacity to drive strategic development priorities capable of transforming the North Central region and aligning it with national development goals of the Renewed Hope Administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Dr. Tsenyil spoke during the Regional Technical Validation Workshop on the National Regional Development Policy (NRDP) 2026–2030 held in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
According to him, the policy represents a bold and strategic framework aimed at promoting balanced territorial development, strengthening regional competitiveness, enhancing intergovernmental coordination, and ensuring that no region is left behind in the pursuit of national prosperity.
He noted that the NCDC has continued to develop frameworks for its interventions, adding that the implementation of the National Regional Development Policy will further enhance the Commission’s mandate and operations.
The Managing Director stressed that the North Central Development Commission stands to achieve more through collaboration and synergy with other Regional Development Commissions, particularly in the areas of infrastructure, security, investment, human capital development, empowerment, and productivity across the regions.
Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Regional Development, Dr. Mary Ogbe, represented by the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, Mr. Albert Asotibe, disclosed that the North Central workshop is the third in the series of regional validation engagements, following similar exercises in the South East and South South geopolitical zones.
She explained that the National Regional Development Policy is designed to provide a coordinated roadmap for regional development in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The Permanent Secretary further revealed that once fully developed, adopted, and approved by the Federal Executive Council, the policy would serve as a comprehensive guide for the operations of Regional Development Commissions to ensure synergy and national integration.
Also speaking, the UNDP Resident Representative, Ms. Elsie Attafuah, represented by Policy Specialist Dr. Sola, described the policy initiative as inclusive and people-oriented, noting that it provides citizens with opportunities to actively participate in shaping the development of their regions through inputs, suggestions, and constructive engagement.
He emphasized that the success of the policy would depend largely on public ownership, with the Development Commissions serving as key drivers of implementation.
Participants at the workshop were urged to contribute meaningfully toward enriching the draft policy to ensure it becomes a solid platform for rapid and sustainable development.
Other stakeholders commended the Ministry of Regional Development, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the North Central Development Commission for convening the workshop and fostering broad stakeholder participation.
The workshop later proceeded into technical sessions where the Lead Consultant presented an overview of the draft NRDP document.
In their various contributions, participants raised issues bordering on project conception and needs assessment, funding mechanisms and public-private partnerships, institutional discipline and leadership, monitoring and evaluation, grassroots participation, and equitable distribution of projects across the regions.

President Tinubu’s Developmental Strides in Zamfara State Highlighted by Tinubu Rumfa-Rumfa.
A video highlighting key developmental projects executed by the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Zamfara State has been released, the footage captures a range of impactful initiatives spanning infrastructure, social services, and economic development, reflecting the administration’s broader commitment to national progress and inclusive governance.
These projects underscore the government’s focus on delivering tangible benefits to communities, particularly in Northern Nigeria.
Notably, the Tinubu Rumfa-Rumfa Support Group, under the leadership of its chairman, Alhaji Mahmud Abdullahi Sheriff, has been actively working to document and showcase these achievements.
The group has taken it upon itself to highlight key interventions and ensure that citizens are well informed about the administration’s efforts across various states in the North.
Their initiative not only promotes awareness but also strengthens public engagement by bringing government activities closer to the people.
Kudos to the Tinubu Rumfa-Rumfa Support Group for its dedication and commitment to amplifying these important milestones.
EFCC Sets the Record Straight on UUTH Incident.
Following the impassioned reaction of Nigerians to a recent incident at the Uyo University Teaching Hospital, UUTH, involving operatives of the Uyo Zonal Directorate of the Commission and some staff of the hospital, the Commission is constrained to issue further clarification concerning the episode.
The presence of the Commission’s Operatives in the facility on Tuesday, May 12th, 2026 was purely administrative, to facilitate the authentication of a document, rather than a tactical operation to effect arrest. Contrary to the information making the rounds, no arrests were made and the staff of the hospital that followed our operatives to the Zonal Command were not detained.
The Commission is outraged by the allegations of brutalisation of staff of the hospital. Even though we have not seen any physical evidence of such brutality in terms of bodily harm or injury to anyone, including to the staff members who addressed the media on this issue, the Commission as a responsible organisation, has ordered an investigation into the incident. While awaiting the outcome of this inquiry, any staff of the Commission found to have deviated from the Standard Operating Procedure of the Agency, will not be spared.
The Commission acknowledges stakeholders who have shown concern in the amicable resolution of the issue and ,once again, reassures the public, including medical staff of the UUTH, that the May 12th incident was an aberration and should not be allowed to be exploited by some fifth columnists to undermine the fight against corruption in Nigeria.
The EFCC recognizes the rights of every Nigerian and will continue to pursue its mandate without distraction or encroachment on the inalienable right of anyone.

Tomorrow is the day for House Reps APC Primary election.
Our leader Arch @Usman_Yau_78 is fully set to participate in the upcoming primaries and without any doubt we have confidence that the stakeholders and the constituents of Darazo/Ganjuwa will vote for him as the candidate.
Why APC Should Give Its Governorship Ticket to Chief (Dr.) Eric Opah.
Giving the ticket to Chief (Dr.) Eric Opah is a strategic move for APC to win, govern credibly, and deliver tangible results. Here’s why:
1. Electoral Strength Through Credibility and Character.
APC needs a candidate with an untainted reputation to counter voter apathy and opposition attacks. Chief Eric Opah is defined by “untainted character” and decades of transparency in business. That credibility translates directly into voter trust, especially among undecided and youth voters who are tired of recycled politics. He brings a clean slate and a reputation for integrity to the ticket.
2. Proven Capacity to Create Jobs and Grow the Economy.
As Founder/CEO of Fortune Global Shipping & Logistics Ltd, he built a firm that’s a benchmark for reliability in West Africa. He also served as Director of Cargo Operations for China Southern Airlines in Nigeria, helping establish the carrier regionally.
This means he understands supply chain, trade, port operations, and logistics—the exact sectors that can drive employment and revenue at the state level. APC can campaign on a track record of job creation, not just promises.
3. Strong Network for Investment and Partnerships.
His roles as Board Member of the Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce, Associate Member of IoDN, and Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Logistics give him direct access to investors, diaspora partners, and private sector players.
For a state governor, that network is crucial to attracting FDI, PPP projects, and donor funding without over-reliance on federal allocation. APC can position him as the “investment governor” who opens doors.
4. Grassroots Connection Through Philanthropy.
Through the Eric Opah Foundation and Mbubo Transformation Group, he’s already doing the work APC says it stands for: youth empowerment, education grants, and community infrastructure.
This means he enters the race with existing goodwill and structures on the ground, reducing the cost and time needed to mobilize voters. It also silences the “outsider” narrative.
5. Intellectual and Professional Foundation With a https://t.co/M6AU9Ud3Bo. in Business Administration and an honorary DBA from American Heritage University of Southern California, he combines practical experience with formal training. His early career at Panalpina World Transport Group shows he understands complex systems and can manage large-scale operations—directly applicable to running a state.
6. Unity and Broad Appeal
His profile cuts across business, academia, diaspora, and grassroots. He appeals to entrepreneurs, professionals, youth, and traditional communities without being tied to old political factions. That makes him a unifying candidate who can consolidate APC’s base and pull in swing voters.
Bottom line for APC: Eric Opah offers a winning combination of credibility, economic competence, grassroots goodwill, and external networks. He gives the party a candidate who can both win the election and govern effectively from day one.
Greater Abia state is possible with Chief (Dr.) Eric Opah.
Chief (Dr.) Eric Opah stands as a shining example of visionary leadership, entrepreneurial excellence, and unwavering commitment to societal development.
A trailblazer in the logistics industry, Chief Opah has built a legacy rooted in integrity, transparency, and innovation. As the Founder and CEO of Fortune Global Shipping & Logistics Limited, he has transformed the company into a trusted benchmark for reliability across West Africa, setting new standards in global logistics and supply chain management.
His wealth of experience and professional influence is reflected in his roles across key institutions, including serving as a Board Member of the Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce, Director of Cargo Operations for China Southern Airlines (Nigeria), Associate Member of the Institute of Directors Nigeria (IoDN), and Fellow of both the Nigerian Institute of Logistics and the Nigerian Ports and Terminal Management Academy. These positions underscore his deep expertise and enduring impact on the industry.
With a solid academic foundation in Business Administration, Chief Opah began his journey at Panalpina World Transport Group, where he developed the technical and strategic skills that would later define his entrepreneurial success. In recognition of his global contributions, he was awarded an honorary Doctorate Degree (DBA) by the American Heritage University of Southern California, USA, in May 2023.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Chief Opah is deeply committed to giving back to society. Through the Eric Opah Foundation, he actively supports education and youth development, providing opportunities and resources for the next generation.
His Mbubo Transformation Group continues to drive meaningful infrastructure and community development initiatives, reflecting his passion for grassroots impact.
A firm believer in legacy through service, he lives by the principle that true success lies in empowering others and uplifting communities.
In his personal life, Chief Opah is a devoted husband to Mrs. Christiana Opah and a proud father of three children. Together, they embody values of integrity, compassion, and service.
Chief (Dr.) Eric Opah is not just a leader in business he is a builder of people, a mentor to many, and a catalyst for lasting change.
Watch: The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Mr. Sunday Dare spoke and highlighted President Tinubu achievements at the PBAT Door-to-Door Stakeholders Conference held at Arewa House, Kaduna on 9th of May 2026.
"Across Northern Nigeria, and particularly in the North West, there is clear evidence of progress, but that progress must be understood in context and measured against expectations; in healthcare, we are seeing upgrades across primary, secondary, and tertiary levels, alongside improvements in emergency response systems, but the critical question remains whether access is sufficiently equitable, whether rural communities are being reached at scale, and whether quality is consistent across facilities." ~ @SundayDareSD.

Arch Usman Yau Shehu Darazo (@Usman_Yau_78): The Architect Building Future Generations
By Garba Mukaddami
In architecture, the true measure of success is not just in the structures that rise, but in the lives those structures ultimately serve. For Usman Yau Shehu Darazo, this philosophy extends far beyond bricks and blueprints. While trained to design physical spaces, he has devoted himself to something even more enduring—building people, shaping futures, and laying foundations for generations yet to come across Darazo and Ganjuwa federal constituency in Bauchi State.
At a time when many wait for political office as a prerequisite for impact, Usman has quietly redefined what it means to lead. Without holding any public position, he has become a cornerstone of opportunity for hundreds of young people and women, using his resources, vision, and personal commitment to create pathways where there were none. His work reflects the mindset of a true architect: identify gaps, design solutions, and build with purpose.
One of his most striking projects is not made of concrete or steel, but of dreams and discipline.
Through the establishment and full funding of a grassroots football club, he has created a platform that is transforming raw talent into real opportunity. In a state where structured systems for sports development are limited, the initiative stands out as both visionary and necessary. For many young people, the club is more than a place to play—it is a training ground for life, instilling resilience, teamwork, and ambition. It has become a rare pipeline for talent discovery, widely regarded as one of the few initiatives of its kind in Bauchi State.
Yet, like any great architect, Usman understands that lasting impact requires more than a single project. His commitment to youth and women empowerment has taken shape through continuous support for small businesses, mentorship, and skills development. He has helped individuals move from uncertainty to stability, from dependence to productivity. Women, in particular, have found in his efforts a deliberate push toward inclusion and economic independence, while young people have gained not just opportunities, but a renewed sense of direction.
What distinguishes Usman’s approach is its intentionality. He does not impose solutions from a distance; he engages directly with the community, listens to its needs, and responds with practical interventions. This hands-on style has earned him trust and admiration, not through rhetoric, but through visible, measurable change. Like a well-designed structure, his impact is both functional and enduring.
Today, as conversations about the future of leadership in Darazo and Ganjuwa intensify, many see in him the kind of representative the constituency needs now—a young, capable leader who has already demonstrated the ability to deliver results without the backing of public office. The growing calls for him to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives are rooted not in speculation, but in a proven track record of service.
In many ways, Usman Yau Shehu Darazo is already doing the work of representation—advocating, empowering, and creating opportunities for his people. The difference is that he has done so without formal authority. His story challenges conventional thinking about leadership, showing that the strongest foundations are often laid long before titles are conferred.
As an architect, he was trained to design structures that stand the test of time. As a community builder, he is applying that same principle to human development—carefully, intentionally, and with lasting impact. For the people of Darazo and Ganjuwa, the future is no longer an abstract concept. Through his work, it is already under construction.
