It’s National Natural Gas Workers Appreciation Day, and we’re proud of this team and grateful for the work they put in every day!
National Natural Gas Utility Workers’ Day started after a natural gas explosion at school in New London, Texas on March 18, 1937. This deadly incident led to the use of mercaptan, which accounts for the "rotten egg" smell that warns you of the presence of natural gas. It was a turning point that shifted the entire industry’s focus toward the rigorous safety protocols we practice today.
At #MLGW we are committed to bringing you safe, reliable natural gas today and every day.
