I represent Colorado’s Third District, and I will always put our communities first.
When I took office, I swore an oath to the Constitution and to the people I serve. Every vote I cast is guided by what is best for this district and the long-term strength of our country.
Leadership requires independent judgment and the willingness to stand on principle.
My focus remains on delivering results for rural Colorado:
• Strengthening American energy production
• Supporting our farmers and ranchers
• Restoring fiscal discipline
• Protecting our water resources
• Backing our veterans and law enforcement
That’s the job I was elected to do — and I’ll keep doing it with conviction, optimism, and a deep gratitude for the people I serve.
“We’re not looking for a perfect map. We’re looking for a process that people can trust.”
Redistricting should be about public trust, not partisan advantage.
That means stable rules, transparency, and fair standards that apply regardless of which party is in power. Our institutions work best when the public has confidence in the process.

“We’re not looking for a perfect map. We’re looking for a process people can trust.”
@RepJeffHurd and @RepDebDingell joined @NPR to discuss the Problem Solvers Caucus’ new bipartisan working group focused on addressing partisan gerrymandering and strengthening confidence in our democratic process.
I appreciate CEBA’s support for the Geothermal Energy Advancement Act.
This bipartisan package brought together five geothermal bills into one commonsense solution. Now it’s time for the Senate to act!
Thank you to House leadership, @RepWesterman, @RepHuffman, @RepJeffHurd, and @RepSusieLee for their support of this critical electricity source.
"Now it’s time for the Senate to advance this commonsense policy solution, providing needed regulatory certainty to ensure a thriving American geothermal industry." -@REnglandDC, CEBA Sr. Director of Gov. Affairs
Yesterday, the House passed the Geothermal Energy Advancement Act, H.R. 5631.
I was proud to co-lead this bipartisan effort with Rep. Susie Lee (D-NV), bringing five geothermal bills together into a single package that will help cut red tape, improve permitting coordination, and support more reliable American energy production.
This is a practical step toward strengthening America's energy future and expanding one of the most promising forms of always-on domestic energy. #CO03
Watch me speak about my bill below.
As Chairman of the House Natural Resources Subcommittee on Indian and Insular Affairs, I welcome Mark Cruz’s nomination to serve as Director of the Indian Health Service. Mark brings a deep understanding of tribal issues and a demonstrated commitment to improving health care for Native communities. I am confident he will provide strong leadership at IHS and serve Indian Country with integrity and professionalism.

The House just passed my Crystal Reservoir Conveyance Act.
When local communities are willing to step up and take responsibility, Washington should empower them—not stand in their way.
This bill gives the City of Ouray the tools to restore and manage Crystal Reservoir while preserving public access, supporting wildfire response, protecting recreation, and ensuring this resource continues serving the community for generations.
Proud to get this done for Ouray and Colorado’s Western Slope. #CO03
I was glad to help secure $400,770 for Garfield County to equip first responders with handheld devices that can quickly identify dangerous substances in the field.
As synthetic drugs become more prevalent, law enforcement, firefighters, and emergency personnel face growing risks every day. These tools will help them respond more safely, make informed decisions faster, and better protect the communities they serve.
This is a practical investment in public safety that will support first responders and strengthen communities across Garfield County and the Western Slope. #CO03 #GarfieldCounty
I joined Chris Miller and the team at Guzman Energy to discuss the future of energy in Colorado and across the West.
For #CO03, energy is about reliability, affordability, and the jobs and economic opportunity that come with it. One message I heard clearly: long-term investment requires certainty. Businesses need a predictable regulatory environment, not constantly changing rules and delays.
America will need more energy in the years ahead. Colorado has the resources, workforce, and expertise to help meet that demand, and I’ll keep working to reduce unnecessary barriers and support an all-of-the-above energy future.
As wildfire season approaches, I joined the Colorado National Guard to learn more about the aviation capabilities that help protect communities across Colorado.
In a district as large and rugged as #CO03, aviation is essential for wildfire response, search-and-rescue missions, disaster response, and military readiness. We also discussed the High-Altitude Army National Guard Aviation Training Site, a world-class Colorado facility that prepares pilots for some of the most demanding flying conditions in the world.
Grateful to Major General Robert Davis and the men and women of the Colorado National Guard for their service and commitment to keeping Colorado communities safe.

I’m incredibly grateful for our spring interns, Hope, Sofia, and Ben, and the work they’ve done serving the people of #CO03 this semester. They brought energy, professionalism, and a strong commitment to public service every day, helping our office deliver for communities across Western and Southern Colorado.
Internships in a congressional office are a great opportunity to learn more about public service, policy, and how Congress works firsthand. 🇺🇸

Last week, I co-led the introduction of the Rural Hospital Revitalization Act alongside Congresswoman Jill Tokuda (D-Hawaii). This bipartisan bill would help rural hospitals access zero-interest USDA loans to modernize facilities, improve patient care, and keep critical healthcare services available close to home.
In communities across #CO03, rural hospitals are often the foundation of a region. They provide emergency care, support local jobs, and make it possible for families, seniors, and veterans to receive care without traveling hours away.
Rural communities deserve healthcare systems that are reliable, modern, and built to serve the people who depend on them every day.
The new Trump Accounts app launched today, making it easier for families to manage these accounts.
One of the most powerful forces in building opportunity is time. The idea behind these accounts is simple: give children an early stake in the American economy and allow long-term growth and compound interest to work over decades.
Eligible children receive a $1,000 federal contribution to help jumpstart their savings, and families can contribute up to $5,000 annually. With long-term growth and compound interest, these accounts could reach roughly $5,800 by age 18, $17,000 by age 27, and more than $200,000 by age 55.
Encouraging savings, investment, and long-term thinking is good policy. I was glad to support the legislation that created these accounts and the opportunities they can provide for the next generation.

Reliable regional airports are essential to communities across Western and Southern Colorado. In a district as large and rural as #CO03, airports are more than transportation hubs: they support emergency response, connect rural communities, strengthen local economies, and help businesses grow.
That’s why I introduced the Airport TIFIA Financing Certainty Act to expand financing options and provide greater certainty for airport infrastructure projects, especially for smaller and regional airports that too often face barriers accessing capital.
Infrastructure policy should work for rural America too.

As Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Indian and Insular Affairs, I introduced the Tribal Regulatory Reform Implementation Act to help reduce unnecessary federal barriers that slow economic development in Tribal communities.
For more than 20 years, federal law has authorized a process to identify outdated regulations holding back opportunity on Tribal lands, but that effort has stalled. This legislation moves that responsibility to the Department of the Interior so it can work more directly with Tribal nations and focus on delivering practical results.
Tribal communities should not have to fight through layers of federal bureaucracy just to move local projects forward. I’ll continue working with Tribal leaders on commonsense reforms that strengthen self-determination, support economic growth, and expand opportunity in Indian Country. #CO03
Thank you to Mesa County Commissioner Bobbie Daniel for traveling to Washington to testify before the House Natural Resources Subcommittee on Federal Lands in support of my Forest Health and Wildfire Risk Reduction Act.
Commissioner Daniel spoke directly about the challenges facing Western Colorado: drought, unhealthy forests, fuel buildup, and longer wildfire seasons that threaten communities, watersheds, and local economies.
Her testimony reinforced an important reality for the West: healthy forests are essential to protecting our water supply and reducing catastrophic wildfire risk.
My legislation would help the Bureau of Land Management move more efficiently on targeted thinning and hazardous fuel reduction projects while maintaining important environmental safeguards. Grateful for Commissioner Daniel’s leadership and for bringing Mesa County’s perspective to Congress. #CO03
On Memorial Day, we honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to the United States.
Their courage and sacrifice secured the freedoms we enjoy today, and we owe them a debt that can never fully be repaid.
As we gather with family and friends across #CO03, may we pause to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. 🇺🇸
Creede is one of the hidden gems of #CO03.
Tucked into the San Juan Mountains, this small town still reflects the mining history, outdoor heritage, and independent spirit that helped shape Western Colorado. From historic downtown streets and mining ruins to hiking, fishing, and access to nearby fourteeners, Creede is well worth the drive.
The Denver Gazette recently highlighted what makes this community so special. Check out the story here: https://t.co/IZqosYzHAP
This week, I spoke before the House Natural Resources Subcommittee on Federal Lands in support of my Forest Health and Wildfire Risk Reduction Act and welcomed Mesa County Commissioner Bobbie Daniel to testify on behalf of Western Colorado communities.
My bill would help the Bureau of Land Management move more efficiently on targeted forest thinning and hazardous fuel reduction projects while maintaining important environmental safeguards. Proactive forest management is critical to reducing catastrophic wildfire risk before communities are put in danger.
Appreciate Commissioner Daniel bringing Western Colorado’s perspective directly to Congress. Watch the hearing here. #CO03
1:15 a.m. in the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee hearing room wrapping up work on the BUILD America 250 Act after hours of amendments and debate.
For Colorado’s Third District, transportation infrastructure is not theoretical. Roads, bridges, airports, and freight corridors keep rural communities connected and support agriculture, energy, tourism, manufacturing, and small businesses across Western and Southern Colorado.
That’s why I stayed working to make sure rural Colorado’s priorities are part of this bill.
Watch the video to hear how this bill affects #CO03.
Major news for Western Colorado.
I am very happy to announce that the federal government is moving forward with approximately $40 million to help preserve the historic Shoshone water rights, one of the most important water protections on the Colorado River.
These flows are critical for Western Colorado agriculture, ranching, rural communities, recreation, and long-term water reliability across the Western Slope.
From the beginning, I made preservation of the Shoshone water rights a top priority and worked directly with the Department of the Interior, local water leaders, agricultural producers, and stakeholders across Colorado to help move this effort forward — including raising the importance of Shoshone directly with Secretary Burgum before the House Natural Resources Committee.
Water issues in the West require persistence, partnership, and practical solutions. This milestone reflects a great deal of hard work and collaboration from people across Colorado who stayed at the table and remained focused on getting this done.
I’ll continue working to ensure Western Colorado has a strong voice in the water decisions that shape our future. #CO03
