Maar hier in Nederland? Hier doen we alsof je zonder een dubbele laag factor 50 ter plekke in as verandert. Dat rood werkt als een rode lap op een klimaatstier.
En die stier staat met zijn vrouw inmiddels bij de bouwmarkt met trillende neusvleugels en een kar vol planken voor zijn ark.
Kijk, ik snap het: klimaat is ingewikkeld.

Begrijp me goed: het klimaat verandert altijd. Soms wordt het warmer, soms kouder.
IJs groeit, ijs smelt. En ijs in het water laat de zeespiegel niet stijgen, vraag dat maar aan iedere gin-tonic-drinker.
Bovendien is de oceaanbodem niet statisch; die maakt ruimte als het moet. Daarom bestaan er troggen die meer water bevatten dan de halve Noordzee.
Dus beste weervrouw, een vriendelijk verzoek:
Minder paniekrood, meer zacht zongeel.
Of desnoods een geruststellend pastelgroen.
Dan kunnen we naar het weer kijken zonder het gevoel dat de Apocalyps gepland staat voor vrijdagmiddag.
Ik heb niet eens het telefoonnummer van bouwbedrijf Noach. En buiten dat, zijn zij nu natuurlijk ook gesloten vanwege de vakantie.
