Just finished all six Red Rising books, and @Pierce_Brown pretty much commandeered the last few months of my life. I was staying up late reading, getting through more on both commutes, and looking forward to getting home from work to pick it up again.

I flew through books 1–3. You get completely invested in the main protagonist Darrow and this world where your Color determines your place in society. Then books 4–6 expand into an ENORMOUS universe, with competing families, different perspectives and wars across the solar system. The politics become as interesting as the battles and the story lines collide in such interesting ways. Light Bringer and Golden Son were prob my favorites but the quality/consistency of all is insanely high.

The broader series is closer to Harry Potter meets Game of Thrones at a galactic level. I’d have preferred a TV series to give the characters and storylines more time, but I’ll take what I can get! I can absolutely see the first book working as a movie as gorier Hunger Games. Adapting the later books’ fleets, weapons and battles would need some serious funding & commitment from studios to get it done right.

Among my favorite stories I’ve followed in any format. Really hope they can do Brown's work justice.
