Working on a BME PhD application this cycle? Want some help from current UofM graduate students? Our Graduate Assistance Application Program application deadline is now extended until November 4th!
I'm super excited to share some results from the Science PRIMA retinal prosthesis clinical trial, including that it's exceeded its main efficacy endpoint with a mean acuity improvement of 4.6 EDTRS lines. Trial participants are almost completely blind due to macular degeneration. There are no good options available to these patients today.
Attend U-M BME’s Ph.D. application webinar to hear about our program and talk with faculty and current students. The session will be live on Friday, 11/1, from 1-4 p.m. EDT. Register here for link: https://t.co/udrTKfpqne
Interested in speech neuroprostheses? Come to the #SfN24 minisymposium organized by @HerffC and I. We have a fantastic lineup chosen to survey the many directions this field can go in: different recording modalities, languages, and behaviors (e.g. attempted vs. imagined speech).
Excited to announce that the NML team will be showcasing some amazing research at #sfn2024@SfNtweets 🤓! Mark your calendars 🗓️ and join us as a few of our members present their groundbreaking work🧐. Stay tuned for more details☺️! @cmuneurosci@CMUMeche#research#science
Excited to be at #Neuroscience#sfn2024 ! Come explore our lab and collaborators’ latest work on neuromodulation, DBS, innovative hardware, and behavioral markers in Parkinson's and other neurological disorders! @UMBiointerfaces@UMBME@UM_MNI
Proud of my PhD student Gianna Paier for winning and presenting her work as Trainee Professional Development Awardee (TPDA)! Great way to start the week at #sfn2024#tpda
🚀 Excited to share highlights from our recent paper accepted at #NeurIPS2024! We implemented KalmanNet, a powerful new decoder for brain-machine interfaces (BMIs) that combines the best of deep learning and explainability to predict finger movements from brain activity. 🧠🧵👇
Double your fun at this supersized team-poster by @chettaaay and @HunterSchone showcasing our latest results from our studies of the vascular ECoG signals recorded from the Synchron Stentrode BCI.
We are pleased & proud to share our latest paper, “Tonic stimulation of dorsal root ganglion results in progressive decline in recruitment of Aα/β-fibers in rats” by @_jting , Charli Hooper, & @dr_shlee, published today in @JNeuromod. @NeuroMechLabX@cmuneurosci @CMU_Mech
This year we are taking part in #GivingBlueday!
As a graduate student org, we provide science curriculum lessons for local high-need, low-resource elementary classrooms.

We made a free, open course on neuroscience for people with a machine learning / quantitative background. Get deep in computational neuroscience, or just indulge your neurocuriousity. I believe that neuro and ML can learn from each other and do better together than on their own.
