@EuanHyslop Ah. An attempt was made on the bikes in my shed on Tuesday morning. Was wondering if connected. Sounds like there may be a group targeting the area at the moment.
@EuanHyslop Although from Craig’s rd getting to Blackhall path will add a bit of time. Might be better to use Corstorphine path to Roseburn. Let me have a look at @SpokesLothian map when I get home.
@EuanHyslop Alternative: come off Blackhall path at Craigleith and use lanes on Queensferry Rd to Queensferry St. Then follow NCR1 cut through to Charlotte Sq, George street and as above. Slightly faster but traffic.
@EuanHyslop I cycle to work at Holyrood from Clermiston. Blackhall path to Haymarket. Follow NCR 1 to half way along George St then head up the Mound. You’d probably go onto the mile here. I go down market street and then onto the mile past the Council building. Do not ride along Princes St!
@cocteautriplets@david_mccraw I’m starting a petition: only period-appropriate vehicular transport should be allowed to be parked in conservation areas.
@dhothersall Are they walking back all the ‘war on motorists’, ‘nobody asked for better pavements or cycle routes’ drivel that came through my door before the 5th then? I’m going to need to see action before I’ll believe that Edin Labour are anything other than massively regressive.
@david_mccraw Nah, you’re right. I think I’m done with hoping for better for this city. Too many people with influence that don’t get the times in which we are living.
Watch and Boris and friends deliver yet another masterclass in the “Ostrich defence” - bury your head in the sand and wait for someone else to f*** up and take the heat off you. They keep doing it, and it keeps working.
@PidginPosting Can't see anything positive coming from Labour - I'd wager they will be more interested in trying to salvage the dismal image of their party by backing quick wins that gain positive press. Real leadership doesn't always make you popular.
@PidginPosting Fed up of this narrative that business’ ‘needs’ should be pandered to at the expense (in terms of quality of life) of the people who live here.
@david_mccraw What the actual fuck. It’s like they wanted to run a negative story and found a clip that vaguely fit. The cyclist did fuck all wrong - which anyone suitably qualified to drive should be able to see.
@david_mccraw The cycle of iteration and feedback is integral to system design. Your first ideas are rarely the right ones. As a system designer, no matter the breadth or depth of your experience, it’s rarely possible to account for every use-case and foresee every issue.
@david_mccraw Agreed. I’ve spent the last 10 years+ as an tech infrastructure engineer. I’ve worked on some massive projects for very high-profile services. I would not have been able to achieve all that I have over my career without the freedom to test out ideas, gather feedback and iterate.
