NOT the news we were hoping for, but a short rest will almost certainly do the show good in the long run. And the main positive here is that they're still actively pursuing #DoctorWho, it's just gonna take a bit longer to find out what's next.
A mixed bag all in all, I'd say 🤷♂️
We are very sad to report the passing of Anthony Head, who appeared as Mr Finch in 'School Reunion' in 2006. He was also known by fans for his commentary in #DoctorWho Confidential and the voice of Baltazar in 'The Infinite Quest' ❤️❤️ https://t.co/mRSvglyRUT
@DoctorOswald How is it the Internet keeps leaking every plot detail from every upcoming season of Doctor Who when I don't want it to, but I can't get five minutes of a Jenna Coleman panel when I want to see it? 😖
@DoctorOswald themselves.
But youre right, its odd that more cons dont film the panels themselves. Seems like a good compromise to me: not only can they control when its uploaded, but itll be of a more professional quality than most fans could achieve.
Hopefully we'll get to see this one 🤞
@DoctorOswald I was thinking more of conventions letting fans film them. I get why they wouldn't tbf because if too many people film it and/or upload it too soon after the con took place, it can remove the incentive for fans to pay to attend in the first place, so they've got to protect [1/2]
@DoctorOswald I guess so? A lot of the time it doesn't bother me but sometimes I kinda feel like we make too big of a deal out of this sort of thing. Like, it's just a movie; it's not really that important, you know?
@DoctorOswald Fair enough.
TBH it's just nice to see Jenna:
A) AT ALL, after her recent radio silence (not that that's unusual 😅)
B) looking so casual at an event. I do like when she gets all poshed up but I tire sometimes of all the pomp & circumstance around premieres & awards shows etc.
Okay Twitter/X/whatever, what's the point in me blocking/muting someone if you're still gonna show me their posts in my feed? That's literally the exact thing I'm trying to avoid here.
Peter Jackson laments the death of physical media:
“You can get Blu-rays and DVDs, but they’re almost a niche product for aficionados now,” Jackson said. “Since they only sell small numbers, no studio wants to put extended features on them or to extend the cuts. We did hours and hours of behind-the-scenes material for The Lord of the Rings DVDs, and so many people have thanked me for doing them. People would watch that stuff over and over again because it inspired them to make films. That’s all gone now, and I think it’s a real shame.”
Do you still get real books and DVDs?
@DoctorOswald Too true. I was hoping the article might mention a release date/window, but then again I assume it can't be terribly far off if they're releasing these now 😊🤞
