Christian children praying at their church in Iraq.
In the last 25 years, Iraq’s Assyrian Christian population has fallen from over 2 million to only 100,000. A true genocide.
Even after the horrors of the Islamic State, their faith remains unshaken.
I visited Cunningham Elementary in Austin to see firsthand how they serve real, scratch-cooked meals on a tight budget. Schools like this prove we can deliver high-quality food that fuels learning and builds lifelong health. We’re expanding programs like this to Make America Healthy Again.
“International law”?
Where was international law when protesters were shot in the streets?
Where was it when injured protestors where shot in hospitals?
Where was it when sham trials ended in hangings?
The Islamic Republic has ignored international law for decades, on executions, torture, repression, funding militias, you name it.
Spare me the sudden concern about “proper legal process” when the regime itself has never respected law, domestic or international, for a single day.
Robert F Kennedy announces new ultra processed food labels will soon be mandatory on all food products
The product will also have a color code to determine how toxic and unhealthy it is
This is a HUGE win!
RFK Jr to Joe Rogan “By April, we will have a federal definition of ultra-processed foods, first time in the history. And as soon as we do that, we're gonna do front of package food labeling.
So every food in your grocery store will have a label, maybe a green light, red light, yellow light telling you whether or not it's gonna be good for you — It's gonna evaluate all of the ingredients, et cetera.
So I, you know, I think we're not gonna change this overnight, but we're gonna change it pretty quickly. And if you wanna be healthy, we're gonna give you the information to take control of your own health.”
Pray for our many Christian brothers and sisters in Iran. Pray for their safety, yes, and also pray that God would raise up brave believers to share the gospel. Pray that that gospel spreads like wildfire throughout the nation and the Middle East.
Dear Parents, the day you give your child a smartphone with social media is the day 1) their childhood ends and 2) you hand your child over to be raised by strangers who want to manipulate him/her. Kids know how to get around “parental controls” & screen time does not matter.
No, Don Lemon, you do not have first amendment right to start screaming disruptions in a church service. These people really are so stupid and evil. This pastor did a great job and was clearly eager to get back to his duty of caring for his people.
@PYNance I think your post raises some important issues. There is not just the sin of adultery, but there is also the sin of deceit. Very serious deceit. He was living a double life and yet and still during that time continued to write and teach.
Globalism only sounds good to those who assume the unbiblical view that humans are fundamentally good. When you understand that human beings are actually sinful by nature, you're quickly disavowed of any notion that concentrating worldwide power in the hands of a few won't lead to devastating tyranny.
A lot of people are talking about how crazy it is that Mamdani would be talking about the "warmth of collectivism" when communism is responsible for the death of millions of people. And it is, indeed, crazy. But let's not miss the important fact that his audience is cheering him on--and they're not cheering for what THEY perceive to be an ideology of death. So what's the disconnect? It's really important to understand...
For those struggling to survive in the present social/economic context of NYC, the idea that each person is responsible for themself and can get ahead through hard work and independence feels like an unattainable ideal--one that perhaps successfully flew under the label of the American dream in the past but is no longer applicable. Having been immersed in the progressive notion that social systems are stacked against entire groups of people, the idea that individuals can and should be responsible for their well-being is seen as the deception of those in power for the purpose of remaining in power. When they hear "rugged individualism," this is their conceptual backdrop.
And if that's your backdrop, what's your solution? Revolutionize government systems to ensure equality of OUTCOME for everyone. From this perspective, it's the search for the good of all--the "warmth of collectivism." Social systems will supposedly no longer hold people down because the new system will be engineered to be the great equalizer (in theory).
In short, the nature of our current social systems is seen as the problem limiting individual success ("rugged individualism"), so the corresponding solution is changing those systems for the equalized outcome of all ("collectivism").
Those who understand the nature of socialism/communism and the sordid history of the many attempts to implement them are rightly horrified that any elected leader could stand up and be cheered on for promoting such a disastrous political philosophy. But we shouldn't be mystified by it at all.
This is the result of critical theory-based thinking that has been pushed incessantly through every level of education (K-12 and college) for decades.
It's taken many years of societal indoctrination to get to a point where large swaths of the population literally don't care about the death toll attributed to socialism or communism in practice. They simply think current government systems are their own form of evil that must be eradicated.
The election of Mamdani isn't a fluke. It's just the beginning.
@SHoddeMiller Amen. our brothers and sisters in Nigeria and the Congo are very vulnerable now under persecution and they should be able to count on the hospitality of their brothers and sisters in free nations to advocate for them and donate to organizations that help them

Leadership Case Study for young pastors: What Beth Moore is doing here is initiating a “struggle session” - a hallmark of woke/woke adjacent culture. It’s when someone decides to be “concerned” or “offended” and reaches out with an invitation to join them for their “struggle session.” (They’ll often start by affirming their love and respect: this is to build relational equity so that you’ll work hard to *keep* their love and respect - which can only happen if you give them what they want…usually backing down from the true thing you said).
When Beth does it *publicly* here, the goal is to stir up controversy or “problematize” something Josh said so that her woke/woke adjacent followers will see it and join in on being offended. In a struggle session, Josh is expected to attend meekly with his tail tucked between his legs (especially as a straight white Christian man) ready to *listen* about any negative *feelings* his words may have caused. Struggle sessions are rarely about facts…because facts are harder to manipulate and dispute. But if strugglers are “hurt, concerned, & offended,” then it’s harder for the mark to tell them they shouldn’t feel that way, because in woke culture “nobody can question how something makes you feel.” You better just empathize *or else.*
*Note: it’s possible to have REAL feelings based on wrong thinking. The way to fix those undesirable feelings is to fix your wrong thinking.*
The tactical mistake Beth made was picking such an innocent and harmless post to problematize. It’s possible she’s in a group chat with other progressive characters who decided mutually that someone needs to “check Josh.” He’s been saying too many biblically orthodox conservative true things that undermine woke 3rd-wayism and progressive “He gets us” Christianity (and worse, people are agreeing with him).
The struggle session’s desired outcome is to get Josh to apologize for all the possible ways his words could have been hurtful to anyone. Their greater goal is to get OTHER pastors to see all the grief they caused Josh so that other pastors will think twice and back away from saying anything that could be “controversial,” because who has time for that drama!? “If you dont want what Josh got, you better keep your mouth shut.”
What Josh did is a good example of how you might handle a struggle session. Either 1) decline the invitation to their pain party by ignoring them, 2) tell them to “get over it.” Or 3) just explain calmly why they’re objectively wrong. Note: when you refuse to party, the hosts will not take it well. They’ll often accuse you of being “arrogant” or “insensitive,” and they’ll insist you’re just “not listening!”
When you respond properly to a struggle session invite, it signals to other would be strugglers that they need not throw struggle sessions in your honor. They’ll redirect their efforts towards more gullible targets, and other good pastors will be encouraged to stand for truth.
@oxfordcomma715@DennyBurk Natasha Crain and Alisa Childers did a fair, compelling insightful review of this book on their unshaken faith podcast. Hatmaker reminds me now of Rachel Held Evans with her falling away from true faith.
