We #BDOSINT welcome the arrest of Ataullah Abu Ammar Jununi, commander-in-chief of the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA), along with 10 others from Narayanganj. It illustrates the deep commitment of @ChiefAdviserGoB against all forms of terrorism, and that any space in Bangladesh will not be used as a springboard for terrorism against neighbouring countries whether we have disagreements or poor relations with them.
Secondly, the ARSA chief along with his henchmen performed false flag operations in collusion with the Myanmar junta. This paved the way for the atrocities and exodus of the Rohingya people to Bangladesh. The same organisation is now openly working with the Myanmar government to fight against the Arakan Army (AA), a Buddhist militant organisation that has occupied over 70% of the Rakhine state in recent months.
The interim government in Bangladesh announced that it wants the Rohingya's to have the next eid celebrations back in their homeland of Myanmar.
This statement is not "emotional". It is an informed commentary on the future of the Rohingya crisis.
Bangladeshi intelligence officials have already established communications with the Arakan Army. It is believed the Arakan Army (AA) is willing to repatriate all Rohingya minorities back to Rakhine state from Bangladesh through an agreement with Bangladesh.
We don't know what the contents of the agreement would be but we can speculate that it will have some guarantees that Bangladesh Armed Forces will not take any action against the Arakan Army (AA) or provide any cooperation to the Myanmar junta.
The arrest of the ARSA chief along with other group members could be result of intelligence information collated from the Arakan Army in good faith. It is an important step in neutralising Rohingya militancy, which is all about drug trade, arms and narcotics smuggling rather than establishing the rights and freedoms of the Rohingya community.
We urge the Bangladesh government to step up intelligence activities inside Myanmar and launch combing operations in Rohingya camps to weed out all Rohingya militants from Bangladesh.
We also recommend the internet access in Rohingya camps be restricted to prevent militant communications using advanced encrypted communications software.
There is no place for Rohingya's in Bangladesh. They belong to Myanmar. Our people have sacrificed enough resources, and it appears the world is abandoning them too. It is impossible for Bangladesh to feed and shelter a rapidly growing population of Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh. Already these foreigners have outnumbered locals in Cox's Bazar at least 3 to 1. They have severely impacted law and order, the local economy of the tourist town, and have no regard for the laws and processes of the host country (Bangladesh). Rohingya's are also obtaining Bangladeshi passports illegally, and then using those travel documents to commit crimes in the Middle East and West. This harms Bangladesh's international image, and is also the cause for problems for the millions of hard working Bangladeshi expatriates who provide vast remittances to aid Bangladesh's economy.
Bangladesh is only for Bangladeshis. There can be no compromise about it.
