Nice document from Strings2026, looking back at 2024 and updating the questions plus adding an AI perspective. I am particularly fond of Maldacena's question :)

As @ThomasVanRiet2 points out, there are significantly more papers being written than before, almost certainly due to LLMs.
I looked at a few of the arXiv categories, e.g. my beloved hep-th:

I am really happy and proud having this preprint out!

Many thanks to @Xiangwen_Guan , @holographythms and Joel for the many many discussions and computations. Took us more than 2 years 🫣
Why I am excited about it? 👇
This is the Pauli principle: two identical fermions cannot occupy the same quantum state. It is the reason atoms have structure, molecules form, and matter doesn't collapse
If you will, all the structure of chemistry exists because we can't tell identical electrons apart

We were lucky to hear from Cumrun Vafa himself about this line of research (yesterday in Leuven). The message was clear: we can break all SUSY in 10d string theory and compute in the strongly coupled regime if one is willing to be courageous and think out of the box
One often portraits dimensional reduction of extradimensional theories as putting trouble under the rug. It feels artificial that some dimensions would be small....
But it isn't. Due to gravity, the overwhelming majority of vacua have some dimensions super small. It's generic!
My talk at Masaryk University can be watched at the following link. Thanks to @ARKonWorldsheet for the invitation.

UK bans tobacco (all nicotine products) for people born after 2008. Where does a zero risk society stop? Will we ban alcohol later, then candy? Climbing trees in your garden without a helmet?
Getting a buzz is human thing. Life is not about maximizing health.
