@jam_rugby On reflection maybe GS should have started with the more powerful players? Socino, Vivas, Gotovtsev went better in the scrums second half- unlucky with a few decisions. & thought Tuisue, Clement and Llewellyn all offered more gain line threat when they came on
@CharlieFelix EJ always used to say it and state fitness has improved, it’s surely not possible for there fitness to improve every time. And then Borthwick steps in and says fitness isn’t up to scratch, implication being the players weren’t fit under EJ at all
@CharlieFelix Always seems strange when international coaches refer to improvements in fitness. Implication is fitness at clubs isn’t good enough which seems unlikely, plus I’m skeptical how much fitness can improve in a 8 week block when you’re prepping for games etc.
@TheCricketGeek Easy to say after England win, but 5 wickets from seam (all bumrah) 15 from spin, Hartley instrumental. Think the England selection was justified.
Having said that with Joe Root being so effective I think there may be room for another seam bowler next test
@TheCricketGeek England teams in the past often criticised for playing too many seamers and not enough spinners in India, and not adapting to conditions.
At the end of the match see how many wickets will have been taken by spinners, think the selection will be vindicated
@rinsure@RugbyInsideLine Missed Oghre at Bristol, Ma'asi-White Sale academy is 🔥
Plus in the short term you add in Alo, Launch, Stooke, McDonall, shields, Robson, Odendall, Odogwu, Basset
Was a really nice balanced squad, just a shame the books didn’t balance
