Pan-African platform committed to defending human rights, promoting democracy, and empowering citizens to reclaim justice, freedom and accountability across Africa
The militias are seen harassing Julius Kamau and other comrades who are calling out the punitive Finance Bill 2026. Someone should tell Treasury CS John Mbadi that the common mwananchi is opposing that budget.

We strongly condemn the raid of the @MathareSJustice. Such actions are an attack on civic space and the work of human rights defenders who tirelessly advocate for justice and accountability. We call for respect for fundamental freedoms an end to intimidation and harassment of activists, and full accountability for those responsible. We stand in solidarity with the Mathare community ✊✊

As the state prepares to read its KES 4.82 trillion budget tomorrow, remember that a country cannot borrow its way into sovereignty. For 40 out of the last 43 years, Kenya has run on a deficit. We are currently ranked the 39th poorest country, yet we run the 66th largest budget globally.
The math doesn't add up because the priorities are inverted.
On June 9th, the Office of the Citizen delivered an alternative vision. A Zero-Based Budget structured on a simple rule: National Interest First.
• Slashes the fiscal deficit to a sustainable 3% of GDP.
• Abolishes redundant Presidential Advisor roles & shrinks the Cabinet.
• Diverts billions from state travel and other luxury into universal school feeding, agricultural credits, and direct education grants.
We don't have a revenue problem; we have an expenditure problem. If you haven’t reviewed the Alternative Budget FY 26/27 highlights yet, read it here

As Kenya prepares for the FY 2026/2027 Budget Statement, critical questions remain: Who stands to benefit? Who may be left behind? And what do the proposed allocations mean for jobs, education, healthcare, public debt, and service delivery?

The post-mortem results confirm that Kelvin died from a severe brain injury, including a fractured skull and internal bleeding, while in police custody.
His family, alongside VOCAL Africa, has faced countless hurdles and frustrations just to get these results. We refuse to let Kelvin become another statistic.
We are calling IPOA and all relevant government authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and hold those responsible accountable.
Even if former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua moves to the Court Of Appeal, he already knows that his former boss will not let him have any form of justice.
Ruto just buried Riggy G's political career.
He should just take the KSh 50 Million and for Ruto to exit.
Good thing, he was never an option.

Tensions flared in Nanyuki as police opened fire during ongoing protests against a proposed U.S. Ebola quarantine facility, leaving one demonstrator dead.
Four bodies discovered in a secret grave in Mwingi. From Kericho to Mwingi, the secrets are buried deep, but we won't stop demanding the truth.
VOCAL Africa stands for justice, independent investigations, and full transparency. No more hidden graves. No more hidden truths.
We had the pleasure of welcoming @WMutunga and @khalifa_khelef to our Nairobi offices today. They paid us a courtesy call to catch up with the team and see firsthand how our operations are running.
We strongly condemn the horrifying use of live ammunition against unarmed students at Multimedia University. University campuses and dormitories should be sanctuaries of learning, not war zones where plainclothes police officers roam freely and fire at innocent youth.
Four students were shot and severely injured during recent demonstrations. These are our children, our siblings and the future of this country.
It is completely unacceptable that when Kenyans step out to exercise their constitutional right to protest, they are met with brutal, lethal force by the very security agencies meant to protect them.
Happy New Week to the people of Kiganjo Ward and all Kenyans 🇰🇪. May Almighty God bless you abundantly, protect you from all evil, and open doors of opportunity in your lives.Thank you for your continued support as we journey together towards a better Kiganjo Ward. #MCA2027

It's interesting how some opposition leaders can find their voices on every issue under the sun but suddenly develop diplomatic silence when it comes to Ebola.
Perhaps speaking too loudly might upset the West. After all, sanctions are apparently scarier than explaining difficult questions to the people they claim to represent.

Today at exactly 12 Noon pale Nairobi CBD.
We weep for those killed.
We scream for those killed.
We remember everyone killed because of their gender and vulnerability.
We remember those who never made it home.
No one is safe until all of us are safe.
