ARTUZ POSITION ON SALARY INCREMENT OF TEACHERS: ARTUZ is saying the government is not only devaluing the dignity of teachers but is further degrading their standard of living without any hope for change within this prevailing environment. Our teacher digninty should be restored
Today we join @kubatana in the #KnowYourConstitution campaign, Section 67 on political rights protects the right to peacefully disagree with the government on whatever issue-We reject 25% salary offer, USD 520 for teachers. 22 March we take to the streets to #SaveOurEducationZw
Did you know?? @kubatana’s #KnowYourConstitution campaign is actually envisaged by the Constitution itself! Check out section 7 👇👇👇
...and the Government is obliged “encourage” them!!! 😄🙌🏽
Every citizen has a Right to participate or gather in any political organization of his or her choice without fear as it is guaranteed in our constitution #Section67#PoliticalRight#KnowYourConstitution
Unsurprising false start to schools opening. We are giving gvt up to 22 March to attend to the incapacitation crisis. If government fails, we are inviting citizens to join us as we physically take to the streets in protest defending our education sector. #SaveOurEducationZw
The framing of this meeting is all wrong and the negotiating platform is a joke. Trs never asked for a COLA but restoration of our October 2018 salaries. The spirit of consultation of NJNC is also against provisions of collective bargaining provided for in s 65 of constitution.
🟥Teachers are incapacitated & bemoan poor wages.
🟥Cain Mathema threatens teachers who may strike on Monday.
🟥Govt refuses to engage on wage demands.
🟥Govt would rather recruit 3000 new teachers than pay existing teachers fairly.
