Finished at work this evening and decided to drop at the cinema. Went with “Call of My Life” after weeks of seeing everyone rave about it.
Maybe the public hype set my expectations a little too high, but I left the cinema feeling slightly underwhelmed.
Hear me out 👀👀👀
The production was decent, the acting was solid (they all killed their roles) and it’s definitely not a bad movie. My challenge was with the story itself. It felt a bit too familiar, relying on plots we’ve seen many times before.
I never really reached that point where I was completely glued. In fact, there were moments my mind wandered because I could almost predict where things were headed.
That said, I can absolutely see why many people love it. If you’re a fan of romantic mushy mushy movies, high velocity love stories, and narratives that make you believe the universe is secretly arranging your happy ending, you’ll probably enjoy it far more than I did. 😭
For real for real sha, it was a good movie. Worth watching, but not a great cinematic experience.
Then again, maybe I’m just not delulu enough. Na me be the problem 😭
I honestly think she’s joking with the cast list she released. Maybe the real cast hasn’t been unveiled yet because this doesn’t look serious. She should pity the investors, especially since she said she’s also directing the movie 💀. I really hope I’m wrong.
Still can’t believe my wife made us pay our rent way ahead of time and stocked up the house with food, prepaid meter unlimited, just before we started wedding expenses 😂 😂
I really don’t know what you people want from muslim women 😂😂, if it’s your right to marry more than one, it’s also her right to not contribute a kobo to the household. Make everybody hug their rights
