@CatchingDomains Love this. My husband has a weekly reminder pop up on his phone to call his dad. And his dad really looks forward to the calls. #thesimplethings
“The moment you include an experience or an example of how it was used, people start to relate to it and they are more likely to take action.”
Love this. And true.
Stop teaching in your content.
Have you noticed that people don’t take action on the stuff you are teaching?
And even worse they aren’t engaging?
The big mistake people make with educational based content is they believe it’s “important” because they are teaching.
And because they feel it’s important they share a stat or a piece of data, but yet they forget a key piece of information.
That key piece is tying it in with something people can relate to.
The moment you include an experience or an example of how it was used, people start to relate to it and they are more likely to take action.
This is why when you watch educational content you don’t do anything with the information you just consumed.
It’s about getting people to take action and people won’t just because you use a clever hook, include a list of stuff they should do, or show an interesting stat.
The moment people can relate, not only are they likely to engage, but they are also more likely to take action.
@scottbolinger Funny, I’ve thought about having a “code word” to use with my family members to verify our calls. Only problem, they’d think I’m crazy at this point. Maybe in another 6 months to a year they will buy in.
@aarondfrancis Agree! Mainly share with family. Also, it gives my father-in-law joy to track me and my husband when we travel (cheap entertainment from his assisted living residence ❤️).
@nareksays Thank you. I was looking at WP and using Gravity Forms and FacetWP. There are a number of other plugins for WP but I’m afraid of hitching my project to a single “one size fits all” plug-in.
@drewwilson@JohnONolan When I saw the video and explanation, my first thoughts went to my daily walks and being able to easily record thoughts and ideas I have that I would otherwise possibly lose by the end of my walk. My 2-cents. 🙂
