I would very much prefer that my elected officials celebrate the United States of America for its 259th birthday instead of using it as an opportunity to celebrate Donald Trump personally. That seems like it’s too much to ask though.
We celebrated America’s unrelenting drive for exploration, ingenuity and creativity while honoring our rich history. That spirit begins right here in our own backyard at Northrop Grumman, where the most powerful rocket boosters for human flight ever constructed are helping keep America at the forefront of innovation and space exploration.
These boosters will travel from Corinne, Utah to Florida aboard Union Pacific’s new America 250 commemorative locomotive, No. 4547, celebrating the nation’s 250th anniversary.
@BlackBlessedLDS Any idea if they're at the Primary in SLC or Lehi? We're like 10 minutes away from the Lehi location and happy to take up food, offer our house for naps or showers, etc.
I'm generally supportive of Pride month but that's not the point. The point is that
"As a roller coaster and theme park fan, and as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints"
is one of the greatest beginnings to a tweet ever.
As a roller coaster and theme park fan, and as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I feel prompted to speak directly to the roller coaster and theme park community.
You don't have to celebrate or affirm Pride month in order to be a good person or a "real" enthusiast.
You're not a bad fan, you're not hateful, and you are not problematic if you don't support a life style that goes against your most sacred beliefs.
You can say no to forced pronouns
You can say no to affirming trans ideology
You can say no to treating mental illness as a valid identity
You can say no to gay stuff
Traditional beliefs-that marriage is between a man and a woman, that god created us male and female, the law of chastity, and that the family is the foundation of society-are still valid.
You can still love others without affirming things that are wrong or evil. You are allowed to believe in basic biology. Saying "no" to this stuff is not violent rhetoric-it's simply standing by your beliefs.
Don't let creators or influencers (especially major ones) emotionally guilt-trip you into thinking that you have to wave the pride flag or affirm everything in order to belong in this hobby.
I also believe that LGBTQ activism and pride celebrations don't make the roller coaster and theme park community a better place. This hobby is about parks, roller coasters, and fun-not some ideological loyalty test.
If you are someone who shares similar beliefs as me or thinks like me but has been afraid to speak up, I want you to know: It's okay to be vocal about it. You can believe in basic common sense without guilt or shame
You're allowed to opt out of Pride Month celebrations and gender ideology without guilt. You're allowed to say "no thanks". You are allowed to not go along with it and not doing so doesn't make you a bad person.
I know many in this community are afraid to speak up, but if you see this post, let it be known: It's okay to be against this stuff.
When I was in college/law school, we used to have European couch surfers stay with us a couple times a month and they would always say things like “we’re here for two weeks and we want to see all the national parks in Utah and then the Grand Canyon and then Los Ángeles and NYC and somewhere in Texas and Hawaii if we have time. Do we need to rent a car or will public transportation be enough to get us everywhere?”
At my dad's job they would sometimes host people from Europe and give them tours and such and they would legit think you could just head to Vegas for the evening when you were staying in Reno because they're both in Nevada
@cierramjohnson@jarredgeller Anyone who’s at a Disney park without kids is weird and should go be an actual adult at an actually nice restaurant that’s not located in a theme park for kids
