We're excited to tweet applications for our one-day conference for school leaders responsible for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Deadline 9am on Tues 7th June APPLY NOW! https://t.co/IgwSVDDohj
@Crookysbubbles Aw we β€ Scarborough and Peasholm Park π funnily enough I thought of you this weekend, been to see Singing In The Rain on stage in Edinburgh, thought you would have loved it π₯° x
@Strickomaster This applies to all staff in school - love working with young people in school, find it difficult to get the balance right. And my school works hard to encourage all staff to put this right, but the question is how?
@DeputyGrocott We love our Ooni wood fired oven and have recently discovered pizza express ready rolled dough - Saturday's pizza was indeed the best I have ever tasted and I am very old (over 50)! Enjoy whatever way you go π
@DhtPastoral I have many students & parents who would be in uproar if I sent these! We would be accused of all sorts - although I have to say I would like to be able to take this route. We are changing MIS soon which I hope will give us the opportunity to drill deeper into the info available
Can I ask how other schools are reporting attendance to parents? Headline figures from sims or adjusted figures to account for covid absences? Please help if you can π @kateowbridge @gary_1990_ @Strickomaster @SolAttendance@MrsSpalding@IG_Schools
@SolAttendance@kateowbridge @gary_1990_ @Strickomaster @MrsSpalding@IG_Schools All that information is readily available apart from the covid absences which would have to be reported manually I believe? Or am I missing something? With 2000 students that seems very tricky but that is definitely what our parents are looking for.
@ChrisWardle77 So not using X at all? Only I code? We have just sent first data home, many upset parents/students who are seeing the effect of the I code after their positive pcr. There's no way round it though, is there?
@ChrisWardle77 It's impossible, we normally have approx 20 calls in a morning, this week not one day less than 100. Covid everywhere, all marked ill ... there is no hope for decent attendance levels this year
@SolAttendance @gary_1990_ @Strickomaster @sch_attendance Thank you @SolAttendance I will investigate the use of the subcodes on Monday, really appreciate this information
Finding it really upsetting thst students who are asymptomatic but with positive pcr test, following live lessons at every opportunity, are having to be marked "ill" for 10 days on the register as they follow the govt's rules on register taking. How are others handling this?
@Strickomaster @gary_1990_ @SolAttendance @sch_attendance I agree but why penalise them and schools in this way? The X code was a good differentiator between cv and other illnesses, allowing traceability within school of the situation.
