In a desperate final attempt to raise funds and soldiers, King Edvar sent out emissaries to the world. The city was captured. Families enslaved and the innocent brutalized. No help came.

Those emissaries that returned only found their worst nightmares. A forest of death and a river that runs crimson with the blood of their friends, their neighbors and families. Some succumb to their grief, others run. Two proceed further. A boy and his father with hopes to rescue his mother.
