Our final #UOI is about creative expression. Students decided to take #action by creating collaborative #art using donated colorful work from KG-5 to collage large storks (school mascot) that they made. #PYP#inquiry#learning To be formally gifted to the school tomorrow!
#students decided to #make an Arts Festival to explore different mediums and ways to interpret expression. #collaboration to #create engaging, #interactive activities for visitors at the Poetry Cafe, Storytelling Circle, Music & Movement, and Art Gallery of world art! #inquiry
Students bursting with ideas and questions during #writing! The topic: What is #poetry? Great #discussion in circle, activity at the #wonderWall, a #mindMap with things we see, think, wonder about #poems. Bonus: two kids created categories and sorted questions on the wonder wall!
@ScrappyMaker@learning2@makeymakey Of course! This is the my second copy of your book. It’s such a great resource. I had to buy another copy because I moved and my books are in storage in another country, no less!
@DarrellWakelam@learning2@makeymakey I’m very excited about it! @DarrellWakelam It’s the new one in my collection. I’ve been eyeing it for a while and now that I have it in hand and reading it, it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for to encourage three-dimensional thinking!
Finishing touches on projects before spring break! I love having kids quietly #crochet and #knit in class during choice time, before school, or even morning meeting. It’s calming and focusing. They are so proud of their work and inspiring each other! #handcrafts#PYP#inquiry
#PYP students #learning about different types of #action. They each chose a historical person who was an agent of change and are making a #collage to show what they learned about them, their achievements, and the type of action they took! #inquiry#artsIntegration
So many connections, excitement, and discussion already. One child ran to his backpack to get the book he happened to have about Marie Curie in Lithuanian! Children started sharing the book and we also watched a short documentary about her life. This is going to be fun!
Started our Agents Of Change unit of inquiry yesterday. For our #provocation the children opened a time capsule! See Think Wonder after examining the artifacts before revealing the letter from Marie Curie. (See comment for second part of how it went!) #inquiry#PYP#learning
@NancyinLux1@women_sig @LizAMFree @WomenEd Oh! How lovely! I wish I had known and could have attended too. I was a bit down discovering that my school doesn’t acknowledge Int’l Women’s Day. Thank you for sharing! You’ve lifted my spirits!
