@CrosbieTeach I was recently contacted by SF as I was paying my undergrad and then a PG loan for the last two years. I rang up and they told me that PGCE is treated the same as undergrad loan and that I shouldn’t be paying a PG loan and refunded it.

@_missshelton I put my foot down & had those pupils removed for that lesson if they were disrespectful, phone calls home were also really helpful. Once I’d had a few removed the message caught on that I won’t take it and that I don’t need to “prove myself”. It is so hard!
@_missshelton I found this last year with my year 11 group! Really hard to try and build relationships when they had the mindset of “we’re leaving this year”. Things definitely got better as the exams got closer!
One of the best things about teaching is trailing new ideas, love this idea for retrieval practice that I’ve tried with Yr10 and Yr11! Apologies I cannot find the tweet I saw this from to say thanks for the idea🙂
This is very telling. All Humanities subjects want to see a reduction in KS4 content, more than any other curriculum area, but in History, 95% of teachers think there's too much content at GCSE. Exam boards need to engage here. It is hard to develop skills with this much content.
