An Independent Disciplinary Commission has today expelled Southampton from the Sky Bet Championship Play-Offs after the Club admitted to multiple breaches of EFL Regulations related to the unauthorised filming of other Clubs’ training.
In addition, the Club has received a four-point deduction that will be applied to the 2026/27 Championship table.
The effect of today’s order is that Middlesbrough are reinstated into the 2026 Play-Offs and will proceed to the Play-Off Final against Hull City. The final remains scheduled for Saturday 23 May, with the kick-off time to be confirmed.

22 - Aged 22 years and 286 days, William Osula is the youngest player to score a brace for Newcastle in a Premier League match since Kenedy against Southampton in March 2018 (22y 30d). Thriller.
Emil Krafth will bring an end to his seven-year stay at Newcastle United following the expiry of his contract this summer.
He will depart the club with 106 Magpies appearances and a Carabao Cup winners medal to his name.
Thank you for everything, Krafu 🫶
I'm not annoyed at that. It's disappointing that we can't create anything in the final third this season, but I saw the desire and effort that had been missing the last 3 games. #nufc
Botman looks petrified every time he gets the ball. A few times he's been in acres of space and turned to play a sideways or backwards pass instead of looking for one of the midfielders. #nufc
You can have differing opinion on Eddie Howe’s future, what has gone wrong this season and why but any blame attached to fans is utterly ludicrous and insulting.
Talk of ‘expectations are too high’ is absolute nonsense.
