April 14, 1993: Chicago Bulls fan Don Calhoun attends his first Bulls game in three years and throws in a 75-foot shot that wins him $1,000,000.
Per Sports Illustrated, Calhoun was selected to shoot because a Bulls employee felt his “suede hiking boots wouldn’t scuff the court."
“In order to write you need to read a lot.” Yes, but you need to read like a writer. You need to pay attention to how different authors build tension, describe characters, transition from scene to scene. This is the one, most crucial practice that will improve your writing.
@Prhymate777 America getting rid of tik tok before the month over 🤣. They can't have chiggas talking to us like this 💀. Radicalizing us. This is the kind of influence McCarthy thought China had during the red scare 😭. He would have a heart attack if he saw this today.
Amen Thompson has morphed into a shape-shifting nightmare this season—and he just might be the best athlete in NBA history. For real. @dannychau on Houston’s agent of chaos:

I’ve been part of the NBA family for over 45 years and I’ve never seen a season like this! First, two superstars get traded in the middle of the regular season, Luka Doncic for Anthony Davis, and now two coaches, Denver’s Michael Malone and the Grizzlies’s Taylor Jenkins, get fired before the end of the regular season and their teams have already secured a spot in the Playoffs.
It was back when Malcolm X and Redd Foxx met as dishwashers at Jimmy's Chicken Shack in Harlem as swing made the transition to BeBop in the early 40s. Harlem was known for it's after hours joints, rent parties, and 2am jam sessions, and after the night was over, a lot of the young musicians and hustlers would meet at 4 or 5 am to eat something that was not quite dinner yet not quite breakfast....Chicken, grits and sometimes waffles. Chicken and grits, because they were from downhome -- North Carolina (Monk) or the midwest (Bird, Miles). The "Waffles" were a Northern, sophisticated twist, but melded with their Southern sensibilities, much like the Blues evolved when it went urban. Years later, in 1968, Bumpy Johnson died over a 2am breakfast of Chicken and Grits at 2am at Wells Restaurant. Couldn't tell you if he had a waffle that night....but you get the picture.
