@Janfra2 I see a place for technology but I also think collaboration, problem solving, and communication skills are best developed through face-to-face interactions. "Unplugged on Purpose" said it's a tool, not a method. I totally agree. Use the tool when/if necessary : )

@Janfra2 Guernsey-children learn best from interaction and conversation. "Tablets Out, Imagination In" echoed these sentiments. Jenkin- “Teaching is about human contact and interaction. I don’t think we are doing children any favours by teaching them through machines at that young age.”

@RobertLam002 @Janfra2 My students rarely use the ipads. I don't feel like they are missing out by not using them more regularly. My daughter, however, does not use technology at home and now in gr4 she struggled to complete & submit some assignments etc #lackofexposure

@Kaylie45220239 @Julious09 @Janfra2 I heard about Simbi for the first time last year and our LAT looked into it for me, but we never ended up signing up. Did you find it was worth the cost? The idea of students recording their reading was one part that was very appealing to me #progressportfolio

@Julious09 @Janfra2 I also like that the students can use Epic to have books read aloud to them, allowing them to do some independent "research" when they are all investigating different topics.

@Janfra2 Love Mr. Rogers! Reminds me of when Lisa Guersney said when we are looking for quality content for our children, that we should look for people with the qualities of a preschool teacher (warm and engaging, repeats themselves, provides pauses etc.)
