#SEL is learning how to take care of our minds, relationships, actions and becoming a good person. How can we foster this at school and at home? Creating safe spaces, quiet zones, and co-regulating with children is a great start. Spending quality time with them, too!

#QueensCONT923chat I make a point to not rely on technology, and to limit the amount of time (and activity) the kids use them. I know that it is wildly over used in their homes, so when I use tech it is very purposeful and I model time limits

@RobertLam002 @Janfra2 I had 3 iPads in my classroom, however over the span of the 2 years I taught, they never were able to set them up. I opted to buy a tablet from amazon for the kids to use in small groups (I bought a headphone splitting jack to have more than 1 kid listening)

@Janfra2 I loved using Mystery Science this past spring, the step by step videos were great for my little pals!

@Janfra2 I loved having a SMART board in my classroom, it was a great way for me to teach Jolly Phonics (and the kids loved the games!) and I used it as a platform to show things to the kids digitally (youtubes, go noodle, google searches and even showed them speech to text!)

@Janfra2 #QueensCONT923chat I find technology valuable. at the minimum, it helps us document (as teachers) for assessment. children can use phones/ipads to take photos of their learning. I set up a personal classroom tablet for Epic! last year

@better_me_app The things they suggest to eat on the meal plan and photos in the App Store aren’t even truly keto. Grains and most fruit (apples and all juice) aren’t keto friendly. Buyer/downloaded beware I guess.

@CharlesTrippy My mom still has dial up Internet. Although now she calls it glorified dial up Internet. Mountain living in the middle of BC Canada eh!
