Insight into activities of the Division Advanced Staff Course in Belgian Defence College / No substantive discussions / Not an official BEL Defence account
Today, we visited #FNHerstal and #JohnCockerill, two major actors in defense industry. It was a very interesting visit in the context of our future defense challenges.
Today, the Advanced Staff Course Land Operations module kicked off. No need to teach these guys to think critically, the experience and brain power in this group is impressive. Good discussions today, looking forward to tomorrow!

A great study trip to NY 🗽🇺🇸 and Ottawa 🦫🇨🇦 last week! #137DivAStC participated in interesting conversations regarding the UN, Climate change in the Arctic and the war in UKR. Thank you for the organisation!
China authorizes its first thorium nuclear reactor to start operating.
In typical Chinese fashion it was expected to take 6 years to build, but was completed in about 3 years 🤭
China has enough thorium to power the whole country for 20,000 years.

Back to IUM 🇵🇹 this morning for the COA development in the different JOPGs. The first COA called Roaring Leon tries to quickly culminate opposing parties while the second COA Octopus Inferno tries to cut off their resources. Our logistics officer develops specific support plans.
Even on a Saturday, the operational planning doesn't stop... the courses of action are being developed and the first good ideas are emerging! It is also an opportunity to taste a local speciality 🇵🇹 like pastéis de Belém.
On the 3rd day of CJEX in 🇵🇹, the pressure is gradually increasing. The Mission Analysis Briefing is approaching fast... The walls of the JOPG are covered with useful information for operational planning and the post-it note remains our basic weapon for developing an Ops design!
