@CVABuck Thanks for your patience and your feedback. Please DM your contact information and control numbers. We will follow-up on Monday. Happy 250th!! 🇺🇸
Virginia legal gun owners, We heard you and we’ve acted.
As of today, every Form 1 & Form 4 submitted by Virginians was processed before the anticipated July 1 change to Virginia law that would prohibit the import, sale, manufacture, purchase & transfer of certain firearms. 1/2
ATF Ruling 2026 2 – BolaWrap 150 Classification
I also issued a ruling confirming the BolaWrap 150 isn’t a firearm. It’s a restraint tool, not a weapon. This ruling prevents regulatory excess and is part of my mission to ensure that ATF classifications accord with law. https://t.co/c8KseYjx9W
RULINGS:
ATF Ruling 2026 1 – SS109/M855 Projectiles. Post 2 of 2
This technical change corrects an old mismatch so reloaders, vendors, and manufacturers aren’t stuck with conflicting rules. The goal is simple: make the classification consistent with the statute and longstanding practice.
RULINGS:
ATF Ruling 2026 1 – SS109/M855 Projectiles. Post 1/2 - I issued a ruling to fix how SS109/M855 components are classified. Since 1986 the full cartridge has been exempt as sporting ammo, but the individual projectiles weren’t. The law requires us to look at the projectile itself, so we’re bringing the components under the same exemption. https://t.co/HdGLLiG4dI
AA80 – Late Registration of NFA Items Falling Out of Contract
Post 2/2
This rule would create a short window to register those items so they can be accounted for and reused legally. It doesn’t change who can buy them or loosen safety rules. It just closes a gap in the system. If you work in this space, I’d welcome comments.
AA80 – Late Registration of NFA Items Falling Out of Contract
Post 1/2
I also posted a rule to fix a narrow but real problem for NFA manufacturers working under government contracts. When contract items fall through, there’s no legal way to register them, so they have to be destroyed or exported. That’s costly, wasteful, and avoidable. https://t.co/cpZ5c6qyje
RULES:
AA63 – Fingerprints
Post 3/3
Finally, because the FBI background check process we use was modernized over the past 5 years, the rule removes unnecessary burdens to reflect how background checks are processed now. If you’ve dealt with these forms and processes, please submit your comments.
RULES:
AA63 – Fingerprints
Post 1/3
Today I posted a rule to make NFA applications and GCA license applications easier. Applications for NFA entities (including trusts) would no longer require fingerprints. We would request fingerprints only when needed to complete a background check. https://t.co/xT6J6rmCeU
RULES:
AA63 – Fingerprints
Post 2/3
When fingerprint cards are needed, however, the rule would reduce the number of cards required from 2 to 1. It would also permit a person to submit a photo ID rather than a passport-style photo to satisfy the photo requirement.
@gunfuzled@ATFCharlotte@ATFHQ Not trying to be confrontational. We are focused on violent criminals and criminal possession. We are bound by the law as it relates to MGs. Thank you for engaging with me. Greatly appreciate the chat.
@gunfuzled@ATFCharlotte@ATFHQ You missed the point of my post. It addresses the illegal possession of machine guns by cartel members, gang members, and other violent criminals; NOT lawful gun owners. These are exactly the people we don't want possessing firearms or machine guns.
We walked ProPublica through this firearms‑trafficking data weeks ago after their story used incorrect numbers. Still no update. Interesting. It’s as if accuracy and transparency only matter to @ProPublica when the facts fit their narrative. https://t.co/WlwR3Taw9b
@NDILnews@ATFHQ@ATF_Chicago@FBIChicago@FBI@HSIChicago@IRS_CI@ICEgov I was honored to join U.S. Attorney Andrew S. Boutros to announce Operation New Dawn: a whole-of-government effort delivering results—179 defendants charged in about 60 days as part of Chicago’s Spring/Summer Anti-Violence Initiative. #HSTF
