Pete Hegseth just slashed the military's list of religious identities from 200+ options to 31.
Gone? Humanist, Atheist, Pagan, and dozens of Christian denominations.
There's no reason for this. It's pure sabotage.

I don’t think the argument is “if someone from X group does good stuff, then the founder of X group wasn’t deceived by a demon”
I think it’s more saying that if the teachings of authoritative figures from X group teach, From their tradition, Y (which is incompatible with demonic inspiration) then the founding of that group was probably not demonic.
But yea I’m glad you don’t hold the current leaders of the church are demonically inspired. That at least seems to be the bare minimum argument that Jacob was making… I’m not sure tho he might have to clarify himself haha
@emuse1955@ThoughtfulSaint I don’t think the argument is that Muhammad would be a true prophet in that case, just that he wouldn’t be inspired by a demon hahah
Or at least that it is no longer demonically inspired
Boethius defined “persona” which, from my understanding has nothing to do with the Greek terms in question
This line of reasoning also seems to ignore the evolution of usage of the term “hypostasis” from the Bible to Nicaea I and other councils and contemporary writings.
My biggest point here is that it seems that personhood would just be sort of assumed to be associated with rational faculties. It probably isn’t going to be argued for explicitly very often until Christians create revisionary metaphysics that require the ordinary language definition/usage to be defended
@ThoughtfulSaint Can you find me a single author that defined “person” as a “center of consciousness” before Boethius (circa 500) defined it as an individual substance with a rational nature? If not, then dont pretend we’re the ones redefining the term.
Early Mormon leadership IQ ranking:
Sidney Rigdon > Joseph Smith > Oliver Cowdrey > David Whitmer >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Martin Harris
It’s hilarious to me how in Hebrews the author is genuinely crashing out for the first 2 chapters about how angels are not above Christ.
The ancient Christians must have been wildin’
NEW version of the problem of evil just dropped:
P1-if God exists, there would be no gratuitous suffering
P2) Shai Gilgeous Alexander Exists
P3) therefore, God does not exist
