@laralogan Hello Lara,
Please note that around 30 Afghan students with P1 cases fully processed & Travel in process are also stranded in Qatar outside the camp. We have graduated and now have no clear path forward and staying in Qatar is also not an option. Please be our voice.
@shawnjvandiver This is the IOM application portal from an Afghan student with P1 case currently in Qatar. Does this recent court ruling implies to individuals with progress like this? This is to note that there around 35 students with this statues stranded in Qatar.
@HouseForeign Thank you. As a group of Afghan students with approved P1 cases, who have American liberal degrees, we have been stranded in Doha, Qatar for nearly 3 years. We no longer can stay in Qatar and going back to Afghanistan puts years of education & our lives itself in danger.
@shawnjvandiver We would love to get in touch with you if you can reach out to voice to those who can help us. We have American degrees and have studied in a liberal arts institution. We are to the national interest of US - we just need someone to reach our voice to US officials.
@shawnjvandiver Hello Shawn,

@displacedint Afghan students in Qatar, here since 2022 to study, face a crisis: U.S. immigration flights halted Jan 20, 2025. Stranded in Qatar, we seek help to continue our education and avoid return to danger.
Dear @AUAfghanistan leadership, it's been over 2 years since we've not received our ARRs. Kindly expedite the submission of our documents to USAID for prompt processing. Let's not waste any more time. @bickfordian@USAmbKabul@FriendsofAUAF@SecBlinken
@afghanevac@AUAfghanistan@FriendsofAUAF@shawnjvandiver@bickfordian We would have been filled with joy and gratitude if our #P1 cases were addressed during the ceremony, and if it had been discussed, what were the results? Being in #Qatar since Aug 2022, 14 months, we still haven't received even our Referrals. This has put us in #LIMBO.
@jmhansler We, as a student body, also request Miss @jmhansler as international news reporter to raise our voice to the in-charge organizations. Your help, Miss @jmhansler, will have a huge positive on our future.

“I do not want to lose another year of my life,” one of the students said.
“I really want to study. I have worked really hard when I was in Afghanistan to get the chance of going to AUAF,” they said. “I’m never going to give up on education.” https://t.co/jna2hWlcIf
President Biden assured U.S. allies that they would not be left behind: “There is a home for you in the United States if you so choose, and we will stand with you, just as you stood with us.”
American University of Afghanistan's @AuafAlumni@AUAF_QSt@EvacuateAUAF have different stories. We would like to share them as well very soon in order to aware relevant agencies about out situation.
We are requesting you Mr @ChrisCoons as a strong supporter of Afghans in the United States to rise our voice to the in-charge organisations @USEmbassyKabul@USCIS@UNmigration@StateDept to process our cases. We have tried several times to contact you through your DM but it is not available in your account. If you want to here our story and get to know our dire situation, kindly contact us.
@ChrisCoons, students of the American University of Afghanistan in Qatar are living in Limbo for more than 11 months. We have not received our #P1 refugee referrals since evacuating to Qatar in August of 2022. Mr @ChrisCoons you asked Mr @SecBlinken on a Senate hearing on September of 2021 that will the @StateDept prioritize @AUAF allies and the response was "YES". However, still students are living in Limbo while being in third country, #Qatar.
