Yes, I'm still over here. Currently livin' that grad student life, slogging through the first few weeks of term. A few custom orders in the hopper, though, so time to find a balance!
Phew! A busy day at Mancuso Harley-Davidson Crossroads today for the Area 1 HOG chapter meeting. Was great to see everyone, including our favorite furbabies!
If you're getting that vest ready for fall in the Houston metro (and maybe some cooler temperatures...hah), and need some patches stitched on, feel free to reach out.
Stitched on patches, and added a buttonhole for this former corpsman's dogtags. He'd previously worn them through a small hole he'd punched in his old vest.
First time using the embroidery machine for a buttonhole! The HCH Plus made quick and easy work of it, hooped on a Durkee EZFrame.
Trying my hand at custom patches for our owners group. In this case, he wanted one that mimicked the "Street Glide" patch. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out! Now to get it stitched on and ready to go for the weekend ride!
Worked today, swapping out 40wt thread for 60wt and some smaller needles on some smaller logo lettering. Stitch out was *so* much cleaner! Learning new tricks as I go along...
Last week, my awesome husband assembled the machine stand, then we moved the new as-yet-unnamed machine to her new location. Put together the new hooping station, that was then put to use completing an order of 25 polo shirts for a local customer. Phew!
Playing with the new embroidery machine and some hats from a new supplier. Sizing for the patch isn't *quite* right, but it's close...

All set up and waiting for the party to start -- I'll be here, sewing on patches till 4!
Food trucks, free beer, music, a bouncy house for the kids, and a bike show with a $200 prize for best bike of the day, today at @CrossroadsHD Mancuso Crossroads Harley-Davidson in Houston! #CypressTX #Houston #HarleyDavidson
Had this Dragon Age Origins-inspired design digitized for ages, and thought I'd send it through the new machine. My PE800 struggled with this -- the tea towel is kinda thick, and the digitizing is a bit more dense than necessary. As a result, it struggled. (Never tried it on the XE1.)
Turned out great! I still need to lower the density on the design, though.
Every new tool has a learning curve. Today: Learning to map a new hoop. Not terribly difficult, with the right tools and approach, but definitely a bit detailed!
I will be there, sewing patches, with a few on offer.
Note: If you have a patch to be sewn on a pocket or a sleeve, it can be done, but I have to do that off-site. I do a drop-off at the dealership or public meet up. My patcher machine (nicknamed "Irene") is basically an antique anvil -- she doesn't travel! 🪡🧵
Getting prepped for this weekend's event: The Tex-Mex Event and Bike Show at Mancuso Harley-Davidson Crossroads, in Houston, TX!
Free beer and a bouncy house for the kiddos; a food truck for the peckish; and a $200 prize for the best bike of the day.
Hours are 12 PM - 4 PM, May 17th!
@kylepennypacke1@SeaRaptor These are produced by a printing process that gives a little texture and a lot more durability than the average sticker -- a UVDTF decal.
Hand washing would probably still be recommended, but mine have survived a test trip through the dishwasher thus far. =D
I've also been working with @SeaRaptor to develop some branded merch. We're still testing durability and availability, so keep your eyes peeled for this stuff in the future!
This was a custom job near and dear to my heart, completed for an Aggie and retired Marine. This denim jacket was his favorite, but the collar had shred from so much wear. Using what was left, I patterned one out of garment leather and replaced it. 👍
