UCPD is investigating a suspicious package discovered at the UCLA School of Law on Wednesday.
There is no public safety threat or danger to the broader campus community, said Richard Mejia, UCLA’s director of emergency communications and information, in an emailed statement. He added that the origin of the package is unknown as of Wednesday afternoon, and people inside one hallway of the School of Law were evacuated as a precaution.
The affected area will remain closed until investigators determine it is safe, Mejia said in the statement. He added that the Los Angeles Fire Department and the Los Angeles Police Department Hazardous Materials Unit are also investigating the incident.
