I am deeply saddened by the tragic loss of life following the sinking of a passenger boat off Cyprus' northern coast.
My heartfelt condolences go to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives. I stand in solidarity with the people of Cyprus, and particularly with the Turkish Cypriot community at this painful time.
My thoughts are also with those who have been injured and with the families anxiously awaiting news of their missing loved ones. I sincerely hope that they will be found and brought home safely.
