How can we promote #equality in science? ⚖️
We take this question seriously at #mpiab. And one thing we've learned is that it's complicated to answer. Last year, we tried a different solution: we sat down with our community and said “Let's talk...” 1/n #WomenInScience

"A majority of advertised positions...are volunteer positions that ask researchers to pay their way. Such an exclusive system provides opportunities only for the privileged."✨https://t.co/jpmRPBrPAW
@ChimpsAhoi I'm a fan of Bear. Within list you can nest tasks as you might a bulleted list. More importantly, you can create your own hierarchical tagging system for any notes you make.
Thanks @MegCrofoot and @livingingroups for working quickly to set up a gender neutral bathroom in our new office! Nobody should have to worry about which bathroom to use.
@ReggiePaxton@BucknellU What a great class! I was concerned when it switched from a rodent based model right before I took it, but worth it in the end for the squeals and camaraderie gained trying to recapture escaped roaches
@BaheerathanM@dechmannlab@lara_keicher@animaltracking @IMPRS_OrgBio @mc_calderonc I would say we set this one about 15-20 meters up. It took about three hours from staking out the trees to finishing set up, but this was a pretty easy environment with a open path and clear branches to shoot our lines over
I absolutely love clever visual ways to convey uncertainty like this. I wish journals would allow xkcd-style wavy line cartoons too, which convey a figure is a sketch and not exact.
They dance, they sing, they laugh in the face of animal proofed-garbage bins. I've written about how and why sulphur-crested cockatoos acquired so many skills. Thanks @LucyMAplin for introducing me to the cool critters and helping me share the knowledge! #dance#birds#cognition
What do humans and #cockatoos have in common? Our dance moves! Sulphur-crested cockatoos are not only smart and dexterous problem-solvers, they have a great sense of rhythm. Check out the groovy birds and the cognition behind their ability to feel the beat https://t.co/7Y6VQffmad
