I really love the new film and it's pretty amazing, gory, horrific, and felt like a survival horror/comedy, but it felt like a parody of Resident Evil Games.

For me, just for me, it's after having all the past films being a different world from the games, and with Welcome to Racoon City being their ticket to adapt, really adapt an adaptation.....almost, you would think they will correct it, but instead they went back to separating it from the game.

After all this live action film, I still wish to have a live action canon to the games. So I can tell my non-gamer friends who are cinema goers the story of its history and not being taken out of context because its connected to the film they just watch.

Anyhow, go watch the new film its very good, really good. Its helping the Resident Evil name show up to people's FYP or timeline who are non-gamers and may or may not introduce them to the games. This new film is pretty sick, and the connections of the infected that Bryan encounters to his inner demons and dilemma, really tick the film box.

It will never happen, Capcom controls the story of the game, and Sony controls the movie. Unlike the The Fallout series, where it is indeed canon to the games. As a RE fan, I never wanted a 1:1 adaptation, I wanted a complete original story that is canon to the game, like how they made Resident Evil 7. But apparently they cant do that since Capcom and Sony agreement.
