@david_parker Wow David, this statement sure sounds a lot different than the “it was the equivalent of using a phone book!” argument you and Marty have been using all day. Quick question: were you simply ignorant of the law or do you just think it shouldn’t apply to you?
While the increase of carbon credit pricing from $25-$130 in the MOU is a good thing for spurring more clean energy investment, one can't help but think of how UCP supporters would have reacted if Notley or Nenshi agreed to the same terms 😅 #ableg

@DavidStaplesYEG Hey David do you respect democracy? You are entitled to disagree, but as an Edmonton resident I support DEI initiatives and voted for candidates that do too. Guess what? Those candidates won. Begging the Premier to overrule the will of voters isn’t the flex you think it is.
The telltale sign of the UCP realizing they screwed up? They try to justify it. Normally they just do it and move on. Seeing lots of tweets on how using sec 33 to limit rights is actually good and how “the teachers got a good deal”. How’re those internals looking? #ableg#abpoli
Last night, Bruce McAllister, the voice of this government, suggested a young student be beaten after daring to ask about education funding and the teachers strike.
This is disgusting behaviour and a tweeted apology is not enough. This is not a one-off — all summer he’s been silencing, belittling, and insulting Albertans he disagrees with.
Danielle Smith must make things right with the young student, starting with an apology of her own, and she needs to fire her second most senior official for his reprehensible conduct and relieve tax payers of his cushy $825K contract.
Alberta’s New Democrats have also been hosting large town halls this summer. We never cut off the microphone, and we welcomed everyone because we genuinely want to hear from citizens.
That’s what governments do.
I know how controlled these panels have been, but to cut the mic of a young, engaged person because they go against your message is beyond shameful. To then imply his parents should beat this out of him…I don’t think there are adequate words to describe this. #ableg#abpoli
@demetriosnAB Wait Minister, I thought your whole thing was to keep these books out of elementary schools? I don’t see any of those listed here? And only a couple junior highs? As a parent I would have 0 issue with my kids accessing any of those texts if they were in high school fyi.
Premier CoS trying to act like this wasn’t EXACTLY the intent of his book ban. I can only hope my kids read Huxley and G.R.R.M. Brave New World and ASOIAF blatantly go against the language of the law FYI, and EPSB is just trying to remain onside.
Utter nonsense and lies. The GOA directive bans explicit pornographic material from little kids at school. This list is not from the province.
It’s shocking and disturbing the lengths some adults will go - and the lies they will tell - to share pornography with young kids.

When @pancholi_rakhi left the NDP leadership race, I wasn’t sure I would endorse another candidate.
After watching for the last two months and speaking with a lot of people in and around the race, I am excited to officially support @nenshi for leader.
Here’s why 🧵
