This right here. Most funding for public schools comes from state and local taxes and is not affected by the DoE. However, most special education funding comes from the federal level. This is absolutely devastating for students with disabilities and differences.
Your child is autistic but you voted for someone who wants to defund the department of education which would grant your child special learning accommodations but no yeah “Jesus is king”
Do NOT donate money to any of these politicians. Over the next 4 years, there will be organizations and communities that need your funds and your time if you’re able to volunteer. They’ve got billionaire and millionaire backers, your neighbors don’t. Build on the ground.
This time, instead of subscribing to the NYT and the Post for the sake of democracy/entertainment, consider supporting locally-owned media, consider learning Spanish, consider volunteering at a food bank, consider taking actions that bring you closer to your neighbours.
also I would not bet one penny relying on working class values to create solidarity with people who willfully choose white supremacy over all things, Sherrod Brown, a true working class hero with a track record in that regard, got beat down in Ohio
Centrists have the ultimate "heads I win, tails you lose" situation. A Harris win validates Biden's "vibes only" approach favoring symbolic gestures over real progressive reforms or action. If Harris loses, they can just blame Muslims and the left. No accountability either way!
This is why you appoint an attorney general who is a prosecutor, not a judge. I don't care that Garland was robbed of a Supreme Court seat, we needed a pitbull prosecutor who would have taken more than 4 years to convict Trump.
it’s still deeply insulting a 1st year Blaine High School special education teacher w/ student loan debt from earning their teaching degree makes $43,000 less than a Blaine police officer
@GlennDavisSoc@caitlinmurr As I said, the double pivot needed to happen years ago when it became apparent that no one could play the 6 like Ertz. I think Purce should have been selected since our attack was lacking experience. We also needed to sub. Promising players like Sanchez weren't given a chance
@GlennDavisSoc@caitlinmurr Our wingers are young and Morgan isn't playing the 9 like she used to. There were so many bright spots (Girma & defense) but Vlatko didn't manage it well, evidenced in how long it took to switch to a double pivot for one. He also took our best strength away from us - a deep bench
@JeffKassouf Good article. However, I you are starting to see a shift away from collegiate soccer. Especially considering top talent like Onyeka Gamero going abroad to Barcelona. Rodman also skipped college. NWSL needs to do away with the draft and go to more of an academy system.
@AdrianGlory13@ChrisLaPuma@JeffKassouf As stated above, US changed to a double pivot with Sonnett and Sullivan sharing the 6. We should have been playing a 4-3-2-1 all along and we outplayed the #3 ranked Sweden after that adjustment. All we were missing was a 9 and 10 which we have in Swanson and Macario who are hurt
@RobVolatile @politicsJunkE @JulieDiCaro Also this WC wasn't bad for a transitional team. Our defense was stellar and the 9 and 10 were out with injury (main attacking players for nonsoccer ppl). The shift to a double pivot went well and we outplayed the #3 ranked team. I'm looking forward to the Olympics next summer
@RobVolatile @politicsJunkE @JulieDiCaro You're rehashing a talking point from 4 years ago and it's a completely different team. How was Girma cocky? Smith? Rodman? Do you even know our players?
And fwiw Rapinoe won the world cup, the golden boot AND the ballon d'or in '19 - she had every right to be cocky then.
@fredthefan Europe, outside of the Champions League, doesn't have the same parity as the NWSL (yet). I watch the FAWSL and the top teams dominate the bottom ones. I still think some of our young players should go to top Europe clubs for technical improvement. But NWSL is way more of a grind.
