Another increase in confidence was seen in the Automobile Index. Rising from 139.6 points in July to 145.5 points in August, the Automobile Index saw an increase of 5.9 points. In August 2021, the following demographic groups reached their new 12-month highs:
The Consumer Sentiment Index decreased by 1.2 points: 88 points in July -> 86.8 points in Aug. While the Future Index of consumer sentiment decreased from 92.9 points in July -> 89.3 points in Aug., the Current Index slightly increased in Aug. (80.3 points in July -> 83 points)
Confidence in the #housingmarket among #GenX significantly grew in August. Among Gen X, the Housing Index increased by 42.3 points to reach 209.7 points in August. This marks a new 12-month high as well as the greatest change in sentiment of all the demographic groups surveyed

The ABI Housing Index saw a sharp decline in the first half of the year, hitting a 12-month low in June (119.6 points). Since then, the Housing Index has been trending back upward to 127.5 points in July & to 134.2 points in August

#AZconsumers have remained more optimistic about COVID-19 after the vaccine was released. Arizonans are more optimistic about COVID-19 in Q2 with 6% more consumers in June (61%) than in March (54%) who felt the situation will be better in the next 30 days
Confidence among most education levels is increasing since the drop in April/May. Consumers with High School/Trade School education and some college gained confidence in the job market in Q2. Consumers who have graduated from a four-year college remain at a similar level as March
Sentiment among Hispanic/Latino consumers saw a significant increase in Q2, showing optimism with a 10.4-point increase from April June (92.9).

Consumers aged 55-65 were most pessimistic regarding consumer sentiment. The greatest drop in sentiment is seen among this group, dropping by 10 points between May and June.

Consumer sentiment among respondents whose education level is high school or less increased by 11 points in June, while respondents with some college education, a four-year degree, or a post-graduate degree decreased by an average of 5 points.
Post-graduation season, the most educated are the least optimistic. According to the ABI-CS™, sentiment among consumers with a college degree decreased by 5 points whereas sentiment among consumers without a college degree increased by 4 points
As AZ heals from the pandemic, consumer sentiment continues to shift. Overall, Arizonans are more optimistic about the future than they are about the present as of June.

More than 2 in 5 #AZconsumers reported that eating at a restaurant(46%) & road trips in a personal vehicle(41%) are the activities they are most willing to participate in today. Staying overnight at a hotel(37%) followed closely behind
