Today, Rep. Smith (@azaustinsmith) and I introduced companion legislation to those measures introduced by Sens. Hoffman (@JakeHoffmanAZ) and Mesnard (@JDMesnard) to renew #Prop123.
It’s time we use NEW dollars to bypass the education bureaucracy and get 100% of these dollars into the classroom to directly raise teacher pay.

Translation: Dems aren’t “protecting democracy.” The are intentionally destroying election integrity to generate tons of mail in ballots to harvest & cheat. Marsh needs to go! Vote Republican!!

I proudly signed onto Representative @DaveMarshallAZ’s letter urging the @CityofPhoenixAZ to reject the Department of Justice’s efforts to undermine our city’s police department.
The last thing our men and women in blue need is the federal government second guessing every single decision they make.
We can maintain responsible policing ourselves. Federal oversight will not make things better. Take it from other cities under DOJ-approved monitors.
@phxdistrict6@DebraStarkPHX@AZAnnOBrien@Jim_Waring@MayorGallego
As you may know, the federal gov has been infringing on state sovereignty when it comes to our municipal police. The DOJ tries to get a consent decree from a mayor & city council to oversee local police.
The track record has been to cost cities over $100 mill, for crime to go up, & for there not to be a way to end the consent decree which consistently lasts longer than the mayor & city council’s terms in office. It seems like a way to set up a federal police force which will not be accountable to local residents & will answer to the federal gov which largely ignores the will of the constituents it’s supposed to serve today.
To stop the DOJ consent decree in Phoenix, we need at least 5 votes on Phoenix City Council against it. That decision could be made any day now.
It appears these 4 Phoenix City Council members are w us against the DOJ consent decree: Jim Waring, Ann O’Brien, Debra Stark, and Kevin Robinson.
The others below need to be emailed to try & convince them to vote NO on the DOJ. The message is simple - SAY NO TO THE DOJ. Will you email them now?

I met @ArcadiaSUSD high school and college-bound students in Chemistry (HARD!), Rock Band (COOL!), and Engineering (TECHIE!).
@HopiSUSD student leaders gave us a personal tour of the campus, including gym class and the community garden.
At @PimaSUSD, we saw engaging after-school enrichment activities for students, including choir (they’re already practicing for the Christmas season!)

⚠️ Vote NO on the excessive $340M PVUSD Bond!⚠️
Here are five reasons why:
1. Bond money can NOT be spent on teacher salaries & will NOT reduce class sizes.
2. Bond money can ONLY be spent on long-term capital expenditures.
3. The district currently has over $120M cash on hand from the prior $236M bond.
4. This bond proposal is a 44% increase over the 2019 bond despite sharply declining enrollment. The estimated total cost of this 20-year bond proposal is $558,716,667.
5. The district has several unused/underutilized properties & is currently looking at closing up to NINE additional schools. Instead of selling these properties, the district gives away several $1/year leases.

Tonight I participated in an @ArizonaTalks session about homelessness.
What we need more of is ACCOUNTABILITY.
Accountability for cities and towns.
Accountability for homelessness vendors.
Accountability for the people we have neglected to help heal for far too long.
These are pretty generous compensation packages for public service. School board members are volunteer positions & teacher compensation isn’t anywhere close to this. The average Arizonan makes less than $51K/yr.
DECLINE TO SIGN!!
Currently the Dems are trying to get crazy props to the ballot. Just say NO!!

From my friends @ParentsForPVUSD
“Vote NO on the massive $340M PVUSD Bond!
Top 5 Reasons Why To Vote NO:
1. This massive bond proposal is a 44% increase over the 2019 $236M bond despite sharply declining enrollment. The estimated total cost of this 20-year bond proposal is $558,716,667.
2. Corrupt Pay-for-Play scheme that benefits contractors; district contractors fund the Bond campaign and then cash in on lucrative contracts.
3. $1/year leases for unused/underutilized properties; the district refuses to sell unused properties and instead gives away $1/yr leases.
4. Unused Properties; The district has already closed several schools and with continued declining enrollment, is looking at closing up to 9 more schools. The district has received several multi-million dollar offers for unused/underutilized properties that they failed to pursue. The district is failing its fudiciary responsibility to taxpayers and needs to sell unused properties to bring more revenue into the district.
5. With record inflation, district taxpayers deserve a tax cut.”
