We used machine learning to understand which social and neurobehavioral risk factors are linked to non-prescribed opioid use in young adults - the top ranked psychological variable predicting opioid use was higher loneliness! @AndreaMMax @UMNews

Broadly, we found that positive social relationships are particularly protective for women against alcohol misuse, with prelim evidence suggesting that dysregulated orbitofrontal cortex reactivity may be particularly impactful for men.
