I am happy to share our most recent study, published in @Cancers_MDPI, which evaluates the significance of baseline lymphopenia among ICI-naive patients with solid tumors receiving ICI.
Many thanks to my great professors for their mentorship and support! @YanisBoumberMD, @NinaOncMD, and @GRSimonMD.

📊 Results:
Among 10,498 propensity-score-matched patients, baseline lymphopenia was associated with:
• Worse OS at 6 months (HR 1.29), 12 months (HR 1.28), and 24 months (HR 1.26).
• Higher early healthcare utilization (HR 1.12).
• Higher serious infection risk (HR 1.11).
• Interestingly, similar clinically coded irAE risk (HR 1.0).
• The association remained evident even after stratification by major tumor types and prior lines of therapy.
💡 Takeaways:
• Baseline ALC may be a simple, widely available biomarker for risk stratification before the start of ICI, helping identify patients at higher risk of poor outcomes.
• Can targeted lymphocyte reconstitution before or alongside ICI initiation improve outcomes?
