What the Artemis II astronauts did over the last 10 days was a testament to their bravery. And the fact that they traveled farther from Earth than anyone ever has, re-entered our atmosphere at more than 24,000 mph, and splashed down safely was a testament to human ingenuity. Thanks to everyone at @NASA for making this mission possible, and for taking us along for the ride.
Today, we were honored to join the 32nd Memorial Ceremony to commemorate the International Day of Reflection on the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi in Rwanda, at the UN HQ in New York, organized by the Department of Global Communications (@UN) and the Permanent Mission of Rwanda to the United Nations (@RwandaUN).
We remain committed to preserving memory, promoting truth, fighting hate speech and advancing peace.

No days off when you’re Moonbound.
@Astro_Christina continues prep for tomorrow’s lunar flyby after completing her workout.
Meanwhile, our entire world watches in anticipation with hope and excitement as the @NASAArtemis II crew presses on toward the Moon.
One last look at Earth before we reach the Moon.
This view of the Earth was captured on April 5, the fourth day of the Artemis II mission, from inside the Orion spacecraft. The four astronauts will reach their closest approach of the Moon tomorrow, April 6.
The Moon is special in so many ways. Scientifically, it provides opportunities we simply don't have on Earth. It's near enough to reach with robotic explorers and humans. And for all of us on Earth, it's special because it's ours. 🩶

The biennial competition takes place every March in even-numbered years, with its inaugural edition held in 2024.
