I’ve come to understand that, in Mediterranean and Latino countries, everyone is flirty and it’s no big deal, just a fun interaction that hurts no one.

In the US, and some northern countries, it’s seen as attention seeking, thirsty, and it’s frowned upon and socially chastised.
