@HunterNewberry8@hazardc@LamarMK You're overestimating how much people will pay $300/month to take a 15 minute nap twice a day lol. And this is coming from someone who paid for FSD outright.
Yeah they didn't go down, but they didn't go up by nearly 100% over that period which is the point.
As a landlord myself, after the low rates/refi during covid my carrying costs went down significantly. More than everything else you mentioned combined. So there's that lol. Oh and by more than everything else I don't mean the increased costs of those things, but the ENTIRE costs. And that included cash out of $40k to improve the yard and rolled in about $20k for solar installed at the same time.
Regardless, if landlords don't want to take on the risks they wouldn't...
In reality - insert statement that has no bearing on the initial claim -
Median net worth = assets โ debts.
Savings usually means liquid cash or things like checking, savings account, money market, maybe emergency fund.
The two statements can both be true, both be false or one true and one false, which is why using one to "prove" the other is nonsense.
Just like you can have wealth, and also make nonsense claims about these two things.
@FrunkToTrunk@ClemoHA@JoeTegtmeyer@cybertruck Just as a quick follow up, you're literally talking to someone who is saying "Want Features, Will Pay" and with a (I assume) straight face responding with people won't want to pay for it.
I've owned a Y for 6 years, I've done 3 major US roadtrips (one was nearly 9k miles) and you're correct I live in LA. What you're failing to realize is that the Cybertruck is not the every day around town Telsa vehicle, so any reference to the everyday around town usage completely misses the point. What I would use a Cybertruck for is completely different than what I use my Y for. And to say that you only need [insert feature] less than 5% of the time ignores that you DO need it that 5% and without it you don't have the vehicle that performs the tasks you need it to perform.
I want a Cybertruck to tow an RV. I want a Cybertruck with 500 miles of range (or hell at least similar to an R1T) for that purpose. I also want Tesla to sell $60k trucks with less range and lower tow rating because they should, but I want to pay the premium for the premium vehicle. Why is that so hard to understand? It's crazy that I'm talking about how I want an EV to satisfy the needs of what an ICE truck can do in 2026 and everyone treats me like I'm a crazy person rambling nonsense on the street.
@DavidSvendsen@Tesla Live up to how? By selling ~30x the vehicles? Cause they're already doing that. When the 6 seater Y comes to the US it would have ended up cannibalizing X sales dropping volume even more.
I've said this 10 times, if they actually delivered the 500+mi range initially advertised I would have bought one already at whatever price. So it's not necessarily just the price. And at $70k with limited towing capacity, it's just a real bummer... There's just not an attractive variant all things considered for lots of people at the moment.
It's not just About feasibility, it's about the excess batteries needed to support the system. You would need so many more batteries when there's just not enough to go around for vehicles, energy storage, future Optimus bots. Maybe in 10 years when there's more someone can make the economics work but by then there should be enough semi chargers that it will make even less sense.
@thc_btc@Brand0n@SawyerMerritt ๐ฏ I make sure to say this every time. FSD lite = less safe otherwise no reason for non-lite FSD. Thus lite is BS and will just lead to a massive class action lawsuit.
@Brand0n@SawyerMerritt v14 lite is BS. It's FSD as safe as the full version or nothing. And if it's just as safe and functional but runs with less resources then there's no need for a non-lite version.
@TeslaGong@SawyerMerritt Definitely tough as you can't please everyone. I have white now but am into the more integrated coloring of the grey. And don't mind it vs the white at all.
Honestly if they hit 500 mile range in a truck or SUV that can tow 10k plus then it's perfect. I understand very well that my 270 mi range MYP is more than enough for my lifestyle for 95% of the time, but that 5% that it doesn't work completely kills any potential cost savings as I'd need to rent another vehicle for specific things.
It's not impossible to do, it would just likely be expensive, but people will pay. I didn't not buy a Cybertruck because it was more than they initially said it would be, I didn't buy it because the range isn't enough so no sense in upgrading (and no bench seat in the front haha, but that's another issue)
