@Habitat_Van@koicows@KahlonRav They see that and they want to do so. So instead of the money going to the people, it will go to their pockets indirectly.
@KahlonRav reality check:
1. Downtown LNC STR Condo cannot sell, even with an over 20% mark down, the units are left vacant instead of to be trapped in your new rules.
2. hundreds of job losses
3. Anyone involved stop all unnecessary expenses, Restaurants & shops are closing.

@mymaats@GraceALore@VSACentre@Wear2Start@MustardSeedVic Thank you Steve for asking. I’ve sent out many job applications since October as soon as the Bill 35 passed. Zero response and not even a chance for an interview. I’ve a MDes in Design Strategies, previously worked in Intn’l corp. & 4.92⭐️ for 6 yrs hosting. Cannot find a job.
@Averyflash@ZhaZhaLeeper@Dave_Eby@KahlonRav@bcndp How many thousands are you referring to?
There are only one and a half thousand and most of them are long-term home of the home owners who lives in multiple cities. Only a few hundreds of them might go into long-term rentals.
But thousands for workers are losing their jobs now.
@KahlonRav Before the existing housing that you so called “protected” in your own way, you first destroyed many jobs to make more homeless people. That sounds like a good plan.
@PropertyRtsBC@KahlonRav Also the wealthy investors are now picking up the listings on sale with the blood of the individual single property owners who need the money for the livings. The sale at a loss doesn’t benefits to the one who had a housings need.
This is Victoria Official Community Plan. All the legal non-conforming str units are in the zones where “visitor accommodation” is encouraged and allowed. Why shutting all of us down when we are not in conflict with the official plan?
@KahlonRav What’s with the properties not using to solve the housing crisis? To host more homeless people? Why not continue the LNC STR to fund the affordable housing on this land?
@PropertyRtsBC@CityOfVictoria@Dave_Eby
@KahlonRav The STR rental cleaners and their families are also the most vulnerable people for your bill 35 policy. When you thought you are making some homes for some people, there are an equal amount of people who are losing their jobs, business and homes.
