After Bryan hops over the farm’s electric fence, he’s chased into the barn by a dog. As he climbs the ladder, it manages to get a hold of his leg. He shakes it off and closes the barn door, and jumps out of the barn. But the dog mutates and grabs him with its head tentacles.

It seems like Bryan should’ve been infected after being attacked by the dog. But he lucked out, and it only got a hold of his pant leg. As for the tentacles? If Bryan had any broken skin, it probably would have infected him.
