@GLaD0Seven@Jinator1@bibbokins@ConRayArt I would kill for a price like that. Im in the US and that's like a $100 discount here. The price conversion i normally see is like $450+ Canadian
@Jinator1@GLaD0Seven@bibbokins@ConRayArt Im deep in that niche scene. The remake likely had nothing to do with prices. Maybe a little, but the pricing likely went back down for a bit before continuing to rise. The scalpers and retro demand are going to be the big culprits here. It's still the cheapest of the og 3 tho
@thegrayfruit No joke, I had to go to three walmarts (we dont have a gamestop or any dedicated game stores here) because each one only got like 5 copies each and sold them all in the morning. Actually depressing man...
@Kamaniki hooking me up with the goods. Do check out their stuff!
Side note, Nia is the perfect size to be used as T-shirt cannon ammo
#XenobladeChronicles
@swinefinder I briefly worked at a game store when Pikmin 4 came out. We had copies just straight chillin in the back for a week before release. I had to look at those every single day without falling to temptation
@bernkarstel I made a vid on it a few years back and made a point to tell everyone watching to play it for themselves. Much of the reason I made that vid was because tons of people were regurgitating YT opinions without offering any of their own
I hope people listened and actually played it
@RamblingOnDeck Same. The lighting of DS2 is very intentional and creatively driven. This feels like a slap in the face to the style of the game. It's just realism without reason.
@thegrayfruit Generally speaking I think they're fine. They often dont impede the games they're in and sometimes add to it. A great example being select RE games. Achievements are required to get the most out of your customization and unlock special modes. Thus encouraging more interaction.
@thegrayfruit I think it very much is an "it depends" situation. I 100% a lot of games and Ive seen both sides often. Though I mostly see their integration done insanely well. Clean, professional, and artistically done. I think as time has gone on, achievements have detracted less from games.
@isaiah_bb I was out of school by the time AI like this was a thing. However we had plagiarism checkers that did essentially the same thing. I got nearly expelled from college because one of them false flagged me. The second I saw it getting rebranded as AI, I new nothing would change
@GPrime85 2/2 They don't care about the functional state of the game. They only care about the visual marketability. This is in no way excusing the practice. I personally despise gen AI use of any kind. This is just my guess as to why we're seeing it instead of the missing texture/Shrek.
@GPrime85 My guess on why devs are using AI for temp assets is less to do with ease of use and more to do with shareholder appeasement. I fully believe today's shareholders want prototypes to look as close to finished as possible, which obvious temp assets would conflict with. 1/2
