It’s been a delight to perform at this wonderful resort over the last 3 evenings with my dear brother @AafeeUmar
Thank you sincerely for having us, for the warm hospitality at the Treetop Pool Villa & the delicious culinary experience @amillamaldives ✨
Peace&Love
@matimaldivesmv I do understand us artists cannot cater to all the resorts. we do understand there aren’t 50 local bands that could cater to the demand, so by all means bring artists from around the globe, but need not put your own people down like this. (A thread)
The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort cancelled two local bands festive and replaced them with foreigners… last min cancelation is just nothing for these companies. Only God will know why they cancel local bands at the last minute. How much do they have to suffer when their income is gone? Just like that? There should be something that artists could do… isn’t it?
Taj Exotica is a tiny resort which I used to perform at least twice a week. Somehow their MaNaGEr changed and thought to bring a ukranian duo who actually play “programmed” music.
Never gave us a Room but they are so happily living in guest rooms. Gave us one meal but all their meals are all FrEe from the resort. There are atleast 3 ferry trips back and forth to male’.
I really don’t know what the fuck is actually wrong here… can someone figure it out?
Foreign talent should only be allowed if local talent is not available. I do understand there aren’t string quartets here, and that’s a different story. But crappy foreign bands for less money are hired by our biggest industry. This issue has to be addressed in the tourism act.
😡 Outraged by the claim of scarce local talent in our tourism. Read the union's scathing remarks – a direct call-out to authorities undermining our artists. It's time to demand justice! 🚨🎶 #SupportLocalArtists#ShameOnYouAuthorities
