OpenAI is rolling GPT-6 Astra out first to restricted cybersecurity customers, API access and AWS expected to follow over the coming days.

In a press briefing with reporters OpenAI President Greg Brockman suggested this may be the model later remembered as AGI. his closing line, "Welcome to the AGI era."

The rollout is deliberately narrow: Daybreak cybersecurity customers get first access, with Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, API and AWS availability expected over the following days.

OpenAI says Astra improves computer use, coding, financial modeling and finished professional work such as spreadsheets and presentations, alongside stronger results on several reasoning and cybersecurity benchmarks.

At $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens, Astra costs 2.5 times GPT-5.6 Sol's current API rates. It's the same pricing as Anthropic's Feble 5.1.

Brockman suggested the industry may eventually move beyond token-based pricing. He argued that tokens are not directly comparable between AI companies or across different model families, so “the price per task is what matters.”

Astra scored 100% on ExploitBench and found two zero-day V8 vulnerabilities in an internal evaluation, although those results used Daybreak Blue access rather than the default production configuration.

That capability led OpenAI to classify Astra as its first Critical-cyber model and restrict its most advanced cybersecurity access to vetted users.

🧠 Mind as receiver, not creator.

Psychologists are exploring a fascinating idea that challenges how we understand the human mind. Thoughts may not be something we actively produce. Instead, they may arise, arrive, or surface from deeper subconscious processes beyond conscious control. Rather than being authored moment by moment, thoughts appear automatically, often without warning or intention.

Brain imaging studies show that neural activity linked to a thought begins milliseconds before a person becomes aware of it. This suggests awareness comes after the thought has already formed, not before. Meditation research supports this too, showing how thoughts emerge spontaneously when the mind is quiet, then fade when attention shifts.

This perspective changes how we relate to anxiety, creativity, and self-judgment. If thoughts are received rather than chosen, then observing them without attachment becomes easier. Mental clarity may come not from controlling the mind, but from listening to it with awareness.

The mind may be less like a writer and more like a radio, tuning into signals already in motion.

In my understanding of consciousness through the lens of information theory: Microtubules are biophoton collectors. Anesthesia blocks photonic information flux. Alzheimer's blocks biophoton flux by unpaired protein chirality. Amyloid is not a myth. Hypoglycemia blocks biophoton production in mitochondria. Hypoglycemia turns off the light, anesthesia detaches the receiver, Alzheimer's breaks the fiber-optic cables, and alcohol blows out the circuit with blinding white noise. Because alcohol increases biophotons and creates noise. Signal to noise ratio is down regulated. Biophoton level is a kind of tuner value. We need an optimum.
