Very excited to share I've just signed a contract with T&T Clark to write a first of its kind introduction to disability theology! My hope is that this will be a real resource for people and help expand the discipline's reach for years to come
For the Christian, all philosophy is dangerous. But, that said, the philosophical world of Plato is much closer in resonance to the teaching of scripture than that of Aristotle. There is a need in western Christianity to reject the influence of Aristotle.
Unfortunately, this is just facilitated communication by another name and we’ve known FC is bunk for a long time now. But it’s this admin’s quintessential strategy: pour money into things that don’t work or are discredited to the detriment of people in need
Assisted spelling is used to help nonverbal people communicate by pointing to letters on boards or using keyboards with help from another person.
Supporters say it has helped thousands of people with autism. Critics warn of abuse — and fake “telepathy.” https://t.co/OFt4bcFEvk

Who in the world are these teachers who both use (so-called) AI tools AND are worried about their impact on student learning. Either pick a lane or learn to be comfortable being a hypocrite

@DoloresGMorris The way Chicago had been speed running the undoing of their own prestige over the last few years has been insane to watch. From one of the greats to somewhere it’s now genuinely hard to recommend people attend
Every academic press and journal needs a clear ban on copy-paste.
You heard me right. If you cared about your readers, you would retype every citation by hand instead of importing it from Google Scholar or Zotero. Otherwise how can we know you truly engaged with the work?
@ffdyke The idea is that since murder is a mortal sin (thus cutting a person off from salvation unless confessed and absolved) then suicide (I.e, self-murder) does the same thing. But that idea’s mostly a Catholic thing even they’ve softened on

Our church is closely connected with Lutheridge, so every year we get a visit from them at the start of camp season (this year including some bonus folks from Lutherock). I’ve ended up preaching the past two times they’ve been here, and this year one of them drew a picture of me!
@Make_it_Raines I think it and CGS are both good for younger kids (e.g., preschool through kindergarten), but they quickly become less useful as those kids get older unless they’re supplemented with more formal offerings

Great time at this weekend’s Carolina Analytic Theology Workshop! People even took some of the miscellaneous seminary swag entrusted to me, so it can’t be said I’m not doing my duty for @TLS_CU (@Capital_U)
Or you just do this sort of thing during the hours when class is normally held. People on here love to assume that any assignment a professor describes has been designed in exactly the way that they're prepared to complain about
Hello yt lady. So as a student, having to set up a time to go see my professor during their office hrs, while juggling my other classes, assignments, org responsibilities, job shifts & social life is an additional responsibility after I already completed the assignment.
